Any tips on getting insurance to pay for the lapband?

I have united healthcare wanting some tips on how I can get them to pay for the lap band....I have high blood pressure and diabetes runs in the family and i am over 100 pounds over weight

The best thing to do is to get a few doctors to write recommendations for you. I had to wait the longest for Medicare to pay for the lapband. Good luck.

I'm afraid that most insurance companies won't go for the lap band unless it is to save your life, not prevent problems.
