She has had several episodes, this one the worse where her sugar jumped from 373 to 513 and didn;t go down for 4 hours, at the hospital they admitted her and gave fluid, cat scan shows brain swelling but no major damage, EKG borderline, she is on the pump, what in the world is going on !

I can't find anything about this online, but I've noticed an odor to insulin that no one else seems to. It's not just my imagination, or a certain type, because not only was my ex-boyfriend a diabetic who used insulin on a daily basis, but my stepmother and my cat are both insulin-dependant, and I notice the EXACT same odor. It's odd. It smells almost like nail polish remover, with a hint of disinfectant, but I've been told, both by my ex and my stepmother, and by a doctor, that insulin has no scent. So...what am I smelling? It's not that disinfectant-y hospital smell, and I only notice it when I'm around insulin. I've noticed this in doctor's offices, hospitals, and even right this moment, as my stepmother is testing her blood and taking the dosage of insulin she needs. I would have figured diabetics would notice this smell, but apparently not. Help me out? Thanks. <3

I have a Urinary Tract Infection that I'm trying to cure by drinking large amounts of unsweetened cranberry juice + a TON of water. People are saying that if you're going to drink lots and lots of water, it's important to take in the "salts," too. But the nurse practitioner told me not to consume sugars, which will make the infection worse (bacteria feed on it).

So I don't want to drink gatorade. Does PediaSure contain added sweeteners/sugar? If so, is there another product that does not?

I had some foot sols made for my feet last year and they cost 700 bucks and did nothing to even remotly help me. I think you should beware going to these so called specialists. They need to be regulated.

Dr.said complication from the heart, but i think i can still manage this, thats why if possible, perhaps could help proper exercise and herbal medicine . this complication is mild may be.

have been having weird symptoms since Wednesday that have all pointed toward Type 1 Diabetes. I just got over a terrible viral infection a few weeks ago that really took a toll on my intestines.

Since Wednesday I have been experiencing the following symptoms:

- Frequent urination w/ NO pain or burning, up to 10-15 times a day
- Increased appetite
- Increased thirst
- Fatigue
- Irritability
- Burning, gnawing pain in upper abdomen that has lasted for the past 24 hrs
- Feeling of "swelling" in upper abdomen
- Extreme flatulence
- Frequent diarrhea (was watery, but now stools are loose and very small)
- Burning, itchy ears

So basically I have a lot of symptoms that relate to problems of the pancreas and the onset of Type 1 Diabetes. I have an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday, but I would like to know if any one here could give me any information or take a stab at it.

i donate plasma on a reg basis and got told today i could not donate today because my red blood cell count was too low and i am wondering what caused this. I asked the lady what it meant and she daid it meant that i could not donate and walked away....so im still wondering. can ya help me out on this one.
