Diseases & Conditions - 26 September 2006

Lately I have been getting quite severe chest pain, directly underneath my heart... it's sort of underneath my last rib on the left side of of my chest. It happens randomly although I was pushing my car last night and I suddenly got it... a really sharp pain that takes my breath away.

It hurts to breath and I have to wait til it goes away before I can move comfortably again.

I'm 19 years old and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be dying of heart disease YET!! I'm about 5'11, 173cm I think, I weigh 63 kgs which is about 138 pounds.

Is it some kind of angina? I'm kind of scared because both my grandfathers have died of heart disease!!!

I had a thriving business before the amputation. I had to sell all my assets to pay off my accounts with my venders to a "0" balance, which left me broke. My right leg below the knee was amputated 6/9/06, I'm going to be fitted for a prostetic leg in 2-3 wks. I am unable to work, and my bills are piling up. I've applied for SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS and have been denied twice, I'm currently on WELFARE recieving $300.00 per month and also recieving $150.00 in foodstamps. My family consists of my 2yr old son, my 11yr old daughter, my wife and myself. My rent for housing is $1075.00 per mth., plus electric, gas, telephone, auto insurance. I am currently "3" mths. behind on my rent.I will still be unemployable into the NEW YEAR.Any documentation needed will be supplied to the person, persons or organizations that will assist me with my financial difficulties. My family and friends have helped me and can no longer do so anymorem, I've gone to the churches in my area and can get no more help.

I recently used my roommate's toothbrush about 2 minutes after he used it?? Can I get HIV this way if he has HIV?? I have heard that the HIV canot survive on the toothbrush especially that it was rinsed with water by him when he finished and by me before I used it....please help

they told her today that survival rate on medication is 90%, without medication, her survival rate is 0%. The problem is that the cost of the treatment is about 8 thousand dollars a month!!!!! does anyone know how to go about finding help to offset this cost?? she has medicare but the portion left after mcare pays is still far beyond what my mother brings in per month. If anyone has anyone has any suggestions please share...... and Please pray for her. Thanks

I am a 25 year old woman who is in perfect health with one exception, I have suffered from chronic cysts and gland blockages all my life.

I have had:

1) A grapefruit sized dermoid (sic) cyst on an ovary;
2) A grape sized cyst on my buttocks;
3) Blocked glands in my armits and groin which required surgical removal. (One in my armpit was the size of a golf ball!)
4) Several largeskin blockages behind my ears that needed medical attention and swole to the size of grapes;
4) I don't have any diagnosed acne or severe problems with it, but whenever I get zits, they turn into large lumps with no head that take ages to go away.

All of the doctors I have seen (from oncologists, GP's and dermatologists) say that there is no underlying issue that I merely have a combo of bad luck and small pores.

I don't have excessively oily skin.

Has anyone had anything similar? Have you been diagnosed otherwise? Any natural preventative tips?

My poor, poor 13 month old contracted friggen lice from the friggen babysitter (I was LIVID when I found out!). I need help on how to get rid of this, I have been shampooing her and myself for like 3 weeks now. I have washed and cleaned EVERYTHING atleast 3 times. Does anyone have any suggestions??? I have a 4 yr. old daughter and anytime she barely bumps her nose it begins to bleed. Sometimes she dosent even have to bump it for it to start. I have 3 other children and have never had this problem before it started about 2 months ago. Should I really be concerned? What could be causing this? I saw that frequent nose bleeds could be a sign of leukemia is this true?

I get these clear bumps that itch like crazy and then I open them and they keep filling up for like three days, then dry up. Always on the same foot and they never spread (to other body parts or other foot). What in the heck are they? I read that hyperkalemia resembles sleep narcolepsy. I was diagnosed with sleep narcolepsy, how ever, a person who falls asleep due to narcolepsy is supposed to wake up refreshed. In a research study, (peer reviewed) they found the symptoms of hypokalemia to immitate narcolepsy. but i noticed one important difference. People with hypokalemia, don't get the refreshing naps, but can have prolonged muscle weakness, (Which more resembles me) then sleep narcolepsy. I understand that pottassium plays a part in it. Does anyone have input? I am hoping i do not really have this, because it can be life threatening, where sleep paralysis in narcolepsy is not (unless one falls asleep at the wheel) but my sleep is more controlled then just instantly falling asleep. Any info. could really, really help. thanks
