My Mom has been on it since she was 17, she is 73 and has not had any kidney problems.

Any medication which is filtered through the kidney over long periods of time can cause kidney damage/failure. However, never stop taking the Dilantin without speaking to your doctor. What makes you question this? Your doctor should know what meds you take and what the side effects are. Talk to him!

dilantin is not one of the medicines considererd a cause of kidney failure, good luck
