I had the Flu last Novemember and have had chronic fatigue since. I have had two blood tests that point to Hypothyrodism. I haven't started on meds for it yet because I have also developed serious allergies/allergy-related asthma and I am trying to get that under control first (also started after the flu and thought the chest pain was fatigue related and only after 9mos of complaining, my doctor finally got a clue). I have not had any weight gain so far but I've been told that it happens if the problems with the thyroid go undiagnoised long enough. My only concern about this is because a few of the women in my family have been over weight and it has been such a struggle for them for so many years. I am already struggling with debiltating fatigue and allergies I'm not sure I want to add trying to loose weight to the mix either. What has your experience with hypothyroidism and wieght gain/trying to loose the weight been? Any advice?

I think they should at least pay a portion of the cost because they have been proven to prevent STD's and pregnancy. (For the most part anyway) They cover other birth control methods, so why not?

I read somewhere that Red Skelton had something to do with the artifical heart invention. I am trying to find out how much he was involved.

Treated with 7200 cGy radiation for squamos cell cancer T2 of the vocal cord fifteen years ago. I now suffer from radiation damage to the spine, throat problems, risk of stroke due to hardening arteries in neck and at high risk for reoccuring cancer caused from radiation. I'm suffering from neurological problems and suffer from chronic pain on my left side of my body. Doctors don't know much about the effects of radiation and can only tell me the damage will continue but it's unknown how severe. I'm 32 years old and was diagnosed and treated for cancer at 17.

I hear Gatorade is like the worst thing anyone can drink. But out of desperation, I'm looking for what IS good for diabetics to drink that has electrolytes.

Anyone here have it? My stepsister just found out she has it, she's an IV drug user. I wondered what percentage of people does it just go dormant in. Also in what percentage does it cause cirrhosis?

Through the years, I have had occasional experiences with sleep paralysis. However, over the last few months and weeks it has become more frequent and worsened. Sleep paralysis happens either when getting ready to fall asleep or when waking from sleep. You are awake but cannot move for a period of time. I didn't know this was a condition that many people experienced until I told a relative about it over the weekend. She suggested looking it up, but the more I read, the more frightened I am. Each night I dread going to sleep because I know I will either have this experience just before drifting off, in the middle of the night, or in the morning when waking. Sometimes I try to cry out but can't, and definitely cannot move, but I can see. Sometimes I also can hear things but know they are not real (the other night heard news on the tv, but the tv was not on). If anyone has experienced this, do you know of something i can do before going to bed that might help?

This came on suddenly last night. He was airlifted; is conscious; has crying spells; has had bad headaches for three weeks. Is this suggestive of aneurisym or stroke? Any one know. The doctors are not finding anything. The llump at base of his skull came up today. He was not injured or ill.

I am at a loss for words. My visiting 12 y.o. nephew for some unknown reason even to himself, decided to urinate in the bathroom sink instead of the toilet. Both were clean and in perfect working order. I think he did it on a whim- I don't know- But instead of just yelling at him it is gross and disgusting I would like to have some hard facts to throw at him as to why not to do it again. I swear I am stunned. I only have a daughter who to the best of my knowledge has never urinated in a sink. I did make him clean the entire sink/walls/floor- anywhere the urine may have splattered with bleach cleanser.
