It's an interesting question, but technically speaking, it's an over-the-counter device. Insurance companies tend to only cover those items that are prescribed. Prescriptions for condoms went the way of the Edsel a long time ago, which I think is a good thing. Pay to play, that's what I say.

Condoms are relatively cheap. You can get a box of them for under $10. Your insurance co-pay is probably way more than that. If that is the case, you would be wasting your time in filling out a claim form. Believe me, I would rather pay the $10 for a box of jimmies vs. having my insurance rates go up due to increased risk.

From my knowledge, condoms are usually provided with no charge by most hospitals. Try your local Planned Parenthood.

condoms are free at places like planned parenthood and im pretty sure they arent that expensive. healthcare has more important things then cheap condoms to worry about.
