Coughing is not a symptom of Asthma. From my experience as a Respiratory therapist, childhood asthma symptoms would be wheezing, and sometimes retractions (chest getting pulled in when the child is trying to breathe). The more common symptom will be whistling noises when the child breathes. Air conditioned room is not good for even adults, so just imagine about our children. The circulated air does not allow any fresh air to come in. So if you have any allergens in your house it gets recirculated into every room and spreads all over your house. First try some children's cough medicine, but if the cough doesn't subside within a week, contact a doctor immediately. Recurring symptoms of cough can lead to irritating airways and may cause childhood asthma. So try to cure it right now.
Solutions: Children's cough medicine, Try to avoid air condition, If symptom doesn't go away in a week, contact a doctor immediately. They might have to give some albuterol treatments.

We found out are son had asthma at about that age because of coughing and this is still his main symptom.. It is frustrating, especially at school where most teachers don't have a clue about asthma and fail to recognize coughing as a symptom.. Please take your son to see the pediatrician and good luck to you if you get a diagnosis of asthma, it can be hard to live with. You have to be very vigilant in all situations when you have a child with asthma. But there are new meds coming out all the time, so there is hope. If your son is diagnosed, find a good allergist or pulmonalogist.

Yes it could very well be. When he has a cold has you ever noticed irregular breathing patterns, when he does have a coughing fit put your hand on his chest can you feel his heart pounding. My son has asthma, don't fool around this is a serious condition. TAKE YOUR BOY TO THE DOCTOR!!!

I have exersive asthma and being in the cold seems to make it worse. I would suggest taking him to his M.D. and talk to him about it. They can do tests on your son to see if he does have asthma. They're simple tests, just breathing into a little plastic thing, no blood or needles. If it turns out he does have asthma, they can give him an inhaler to take when he is having trouble breathing.

my son has done that since he was real little too...started about a year old. He's 2 now...you should go have him looked at by the doctor...to rule out asthma. bronchitis..whatever else..could just be dust in the air...make sure he has clean air to breath. But that would be most important to get your little guy to the doctor. Ok..hope everything turns out ok...

It could be asthma. Also, your air conditioning may have mold, asthmatics are allergic to mold. My son is asthmatic and he's had asthma since he was a baby. You need to take him to an allergist specialist or your regular pediatrician. Also, if he wheezes is also a sure sign of asthma.

Air conditioners have filters. We change ours once a week in some homes they are lucky to get changed once a year. He may be allergic to the dust and mold in the filter or the lines that go to the rooms of the AC

clean the filter on the air conditioner at once....then watch and see if its the same coughing......and be careful of the asthma handle because lots of docs use that way 2 much
and u dont want ur child branded with that if its not............its an athletic stigma

probably means that your son's airways are hyperreactive to cold, dry environment

it may not turn out to be asthma
