People from all walks of life can have it. It's a disease that happens when a yet-unknown virus attacks the body, causing the immune defense cells to attack the beta cells in the pancreas, which destroys the body's ability to produce insulin. Without insulin, a Yype 1 diabetic will lapse into a coma and die. With insulin, they can live normal lives. My best friend has Type 1 diabetes, and as long as she regulates her blood sugar, she is absolutely fine.
Hope this helps!

i have type 1 diabetes i was told that it was hereditary my father also had it he is now deceased.I don,t like it at all you really have to be very careful your whole life style changes. You have to eat differently especially anything with sugar in it. your medicines must be taken the way the doctor tells you . in the beginning i was on one med and i died from it they revived me . And the lawyers said there was nothing i could do because my body rejected the medicine .Any type Diabetes is no joke .and should not be taken lightly.
