I can. It doesn't matter if I'm laying on my stomach, my back, or my side. I can count the heartbeats. I can also feel it if I'm sitting back against something, like a chair. And sometimes, I can faintly sense it when I'm just standing still. Is this normal? I'm 36 years old, and I'm VERY active. Not only do I workout a lot, but I perform very intense workouts... very strenuous. My average heart-rate is around 57-62bpm, and my blood pressure is always low. But, I just don't like the 'force' that my heart seems to beats at. One time I was laying in bed with an ex-girlfriend, and she even mentioned how 'hard' my heart beats. Could this be a sign of something bad??? I have no pain. No shortness of breath. No obvious symptoms of anything unusual besides a seemingly 'forceful' heartbeat.

My mother was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 3 years ago and the only real treatments they have given her are Vicodin for her pain. I know that is not a good long term management but that is as far as they are going. She is always in pain even with the pain killers and I don't want Vicodin's long term side effects to damage her life or cut it short. Can you please help? Only serious answers please.

hi i am 15 years old and when i was 1 1/2 years old i spilt some hot tea all over my face in my eyes and on the shoulders and chest. the hot tea left permanent burns on my chest and right shoulder and because of this incident i now have a lazy eye. i have had 2 surgeries done on my lazy eye (one when i was 9 and one when i was 11) and its still not straight. my eye doctor advised me to purchase some glasses which would make my lazy eye look straight and ive been wearing them and my lazy eye is still not straight. my right eye is perfectly fine when i close my right eye and see through my left i can hardly see anything but other wise i see everything perfectly fine. so i was wondering if theres anything else i could do it make my left eye (lazy eye) straight or if i could still get another surgery to straighten it.

If someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge, they will be killed instantly when they hit the water. But why is it that when people jump off a waterfall, they walk away fine.

I'm 16 years old, 5'2" and I weighed 119 pounds when I weighed myself today. I know I'm probably not overweight, but I have friends who are 5'5" and only weigh 100 pounds. Most of my weight is muscle since I'm a cheerleader, but I still feel like I could lose some weight. If I do lose weight, how much should I lose?

Okay... here's the deal.

I'm 24 years old and have three pre-exisiting conditions.
1.) Hepatits C, diagnosed in 2000.
2.) Bipolar Disorder, diagnosed in 2005 (w/ two inpatient hospitalizations).
3.) Atrial Septal Aneryusm (Congential Heart Defect), Diagnosed in 2002.

Plus, I have a family history of heart attacks and cancer. (My parents died of each.)

I make in excess of $100,000, am self-employed and live in Texas.

I know my only option is Private Insurance, but nobody will cover me that I've looked into thus far.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be impossible to get coverage for myself, but being as I'm expecting a baby in December and have a six year old child, is there any way I could get somekind of coverage for them at least?

If so, how would I go about this? What steps need to be taken? Is there any chance I can get some kind of prescription coverage for just myself? (My meds are over $2k/month - no prev. coverage.)

Any help or insight is appreciated!!!

i am more afraid of needles than i am of anything else in the entire world. when i was little i would try to run away from the nurse giving me a shot, and if they wouldn't let me out of the room i would start attacking the nurses (that's actually embarassing for me, i am a pretty peaceful person and i'm not proud that i've done that).
i've talked to people (to the school counselor once even), tried numbing creams, tried closing my eyes, listening to music, everything nothing works.

i don't think this is something i can snap out of, whenver i go to the doctors i always think i'll be okay and i promise myself i'll stay calm, but as soon as they bring in the needle i totally loose control and go crazy. this sounds stupid, but i feel like an animal, i'm not even thinking straight. i'm panicking and just trying to get away or keep the nurse away from me. i try really hard to control it and stay calm but when i see the needle i just. can't.

what can i do?

(it's sort of long, sorry).

The doctor just told me I have a fatty liver. He thinks it is caused by alcohol. I only drink once a week and I usually drink one of the bigger bottles between 3 people or so. I've never seen this doctor before. I'm really overweight, but I've lost 31 pounds in 2 months. I'm continuing to lose weight also. I've been doing research on the internet and the number one cause for fatty liver disease is obesity... Do you really think it could be alcohol?? It would make more sense that it would be my weight..... I like to drink once a week with my friends... Do I really have to stop for good??? Thanks for all of your opinions!!

I've had tiny bumps on my nose for years and I'm not sure what they are. You wouldn't even notice them unless I was in a certain kind of light, or you were really close to my face. They're not red. They're not big. They don't itch, hurt, leak anything, nothing. They are just there. I wash my face daily and I use acne products. The products work on blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, and whatever else, but not these.

What are they? How do I get rid of them?

Hi i'm 26 years old male from England, I have grown 1 inch in the last 6 months and over an inch in the past 6 years. I was 5'10 at age 20 and i'm now just over 6ft at age 26. The weirdest part is I was only 5'11'' 6 months ago meaning ive grown over an inch in 6 months and at the age of 26.

Mistakes and misjudgment dont calculate into it, I always stand up straight with no shoes when measuring my height and always with a ruler. Any ideas how this can happen? I've been into very heavy weightlifting 6 days a week for 3 years now, perhaps my disks are making me taller? or are there any other medical things someone could shed light on?

I will explain the best I can. Last night I was talking with my husband, and then suddenly my head felt like it froze, like I was beside myself. I knew where I was, and I kept having this sensation that my head was moving itself. My husband was talking and didn't notice anything. I was able to tell him that something was wrong, but then the sensation became stronger and then stopped. Even though I was able to breathe, during the episode, I almost felt like I would pass out. I'm not sure what happened, but it's happened before but not often. I have told my doctor, and he says, that's weirdest symptom he's ever heard of and says it's probably, a panic attack. Is that what it could be? I want to know if it has anything to do with a stroke or seizure, I just want to make sure it's not serious.

This is a serious question, so, please don't answer, if you're going to write something stupid. Thanks

Once I get picked to write on the board in front of the class such as doing a question spontaneously at the moment my mind gets blocked and I can't think clearly and logically and I end up making mistakes that I usually don't. I can't get this fear away and may be because I don't get to write on the board often I think I have a fear of writing when people observe me.

I am nearly fifty and for the past two years when I have a period I bleed quite heavily (like a nose bleed). Sometimes I can literally feel the blood falling out of me if I am standing and have on occassion soiled my work clothes. Fortunately I wear dark clothes and my chair is dark. I have been to my doctor but he didn't think was serious. Should I go back to see him or change my doctor?
