Hi i'm 26 years old male from England, I have grown 1 inch in the last 6 months and over an inch in the past 6 years. I was 5'10 at age 20 and i'm now just over 6ft at age 26. The weirdest part is I was only 5'11'' 6 months ago meaning ive grown over an inch in 6 months and at the age of 26.

Mistakes and misjudgment dont calculate into it, I always stand up straight with no shoes when measuring my height and always with a ruler. Any ideas how this can happen? I've been into very heavy weightlifting 6 days a week for 3 years now, perhaps my disks are making me taller? or are there any other medical things someone could shed light on?

Growth occurs in humans up until the growth plates in the bones fuse and prevent further growth. This typically occurs around age 25, so you are not out of the ballpark. What's unusual is that growth hormones usually peak in males much earlier, so even though most males could continue to grow well into their mid-20's, most stop growing in their late teens, or early 20's. Maybe its a genetic thing if you have tall parents, there could be something unusual about your pituitary gland, which produces growth hormone, or maybe it is due to the exercise?

Hello

Yes it's possible I had the same experience like you, until I was 24 my height was 5'8 after I turned 24 I have grown another 2 inch and now I'm 5'10.

My doctor has explain me, that I was born short and I did grown very slow so that on my genetics factors I could grown after I turned 21 years. He once told me when I was controlling my height, that at the end I will be 5'10 and that I mustn't be worry about it. He was really right.

He told me that it's all genetic and nature factors, some grown quickier other later in the age. It doesn't exist a real statistic and nobody knows why this will happen, it's still a mystery.

I'm happy that you have grown and me too, after this age and I hope that it will happen to all people in this world. It makes no difference if they're always tall or not, it's always a good thing.

Be happy with it and enjoy it, a lot of men would change with you.

Beauty, power, and authority over others is usually associated with being tall. Most people's perception of an individual who has a well built stature is someone who's close to being perfect. This is why it is not surprising that so many people want to be taller.

Although it is highly regarded that genetic factors has something to do with being tall, truth be told, there are still other underlying factors that makes an individual taller than his counterparts. Genetics may play some part in it, but usually this is not the sole basis.

You can be tall if you want to, but only if you know how to reach your maximum height potential. So, here are few exercises to get taller and help you achieve positive results in no time. When you start this exercise routine, you'll be surprised at how much taller you will appear to be.

I was researching this topic and came across this discussion. I'm 26 year old male, and recently found out that I've added about 1.5 inches to my height. I was 5'8 about 1-2 years ago (last time I checked), and now I'm 5'9.5''. Even my wife noticed my added height. So yeh, based on the posts here, and my personal experience, it's evidently possible.

Do you do the measurements at the same time of day? In the evening you're generally smaller than early in the day, because of the weight resting on your back, something to do with the cartilage in your vertebra (used a translator for that part so not sure if it's correct english ..)

I'm not really sure whether you gain any length with whatever working out you do. If you do it's definately very limited and probably not significant.

'Normal' growing seems very unlikely to me though. But who knows, I guess it's possible.
