Try THIS!! Wet the Q-Tip with water, and squeeze out the excess. Then clean inside your ears!

I know we're not supposed to put them in our ears, blah, blah, blah. But we know how far is OK, right? Right!! I don't know what we're massaging, but it sure feels good wet!! LOL :)

Questions that make me smile get a star!!

No, it's not massaging your eardrum. Your eardrum is at the far end of the ear canal and it feels painful if a swab or anything else pushes against it, as well it should, because nothing should touch it.

There's a couple of reasons it can feel good -- one, if you have moisture or wax buildup, it is a relief to have your ear canal clean and dry. But more likely, you have some allergies that have kicked up and made your ear canal a bit itchy. Rubbing with a swab provides temporary relief, like rubbing your eyes when they itch.

Ok. I have chronic itchy ears. They are often wet and have a faint vinegar smell. The dr always says they look "perfect" and I seldom get any coloration on my qtip. The BEST relief I get is twisting the tip of a qtip to a sharp point. Gently putting it in, you can hear and feel when you come upon the eardrum. From there I gently twist and oh my f*** does it feel good. You often hit a "sweet spot" which I can only assume is the tip of the eardrum that protrudes outward (I believe it's where the bone is attached to the skin. Sometimes you get it warm and wet, sometimes you get it wet and blow on it until it's cold and put it in. Ugh, I can only assume there are as many if not more nerve endings on the eardrum then there are on the sex organs.

I don't know- but I could fall asleep if someone was qtiping my ears it feels so good. Even qtiping the outside feels good. My ears are perfectly clean because I qtip them 2 to 3 times a day.

PLEASE! Don't put Q-Tips in your ears!!

At the beginning of the summer I was cleaning out my ears with Q-Tips and there was a loud noise. I smooshed the swab into my ear and punctured my eardrum. It bled. But, after 2 months without hearing in my left ear (Oh, I also couldn't go swimming for the whole summer, either!) it finally healed.

It just does. But you do run the risk of ear infections by doing so. Mom used to say never put anything bigger than your elbow in you ear.....

It doesn't feel good to everyone. Yeah, you're really massaging your eardrum. Massage it hard enough and you'll puncture the membrane. Keep pushing it in then you can come see me so I can tell you what an idiot you were.
