I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes and already went to the diatician to do the whole low carb/low sugar diet. I prick my finger 4 times a day to monitor my blood sugar. What my question is is: Will my doctor (or most doctors) do follow up tests through the pregnancy (like another ultrasound, amniocentesis, etc) if my blood sugars are controlled? I have Medicaid and now am a high risk pregnancy, will they still cover the extra tests because they only allow one paid ultrasound during a pregnancy- will that change now? Also, if my doctor doesn't feel they are necessary, should I ask for them anyway? I'm very nervous about something being wrong with my baby (as any mother is, but more so now). Any advice would be helpful, and thank you in advance!

This might sound weird, but i dont feel like the same person i used to be... i feel , well ... diffrent.... And dont get me wrong , i dont want to feel diffrent, i want to feel like myself again... Wat can i do? No stupid answers...

For the past week, my boyfriends been complaining he doesn't feel well, he's 18 and really asthmatic so i suggested he went to the doctors, but being a lad he refused and said he'd be fine.
He's really tired all the time, and when he is tired he can't sleep because he wakes up coughing, really wheezy and has nasty stabbing pains in his chest.
He gets the pains throughout the day and they really take his breath away, its scary. He's also complained hes been feeling a little sick too.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Am i worrying over nothing or should i make the doctors appointment for him??

i cant seem to be able to get myself to do anything much that invovles leaving the house, or house work for that matter!
im still going to work but only cause i have to, but on my days off i just sit about doing nothing thinking about what i should be doing and never doing anything!
its starting to annoy and upset me and u wd think this wd force me to DO SOMETHING but no!

have seen my g.p and blood tests were done,not sure what was tested,i know there was a thyroid one and also hormone,to see if it could be early menopause.my blood results came back ok.i'm not underweight or overweight,not keep fit fanatic,not stressed,i'm only 35.any ideas what could be wrong.can't see g.p till next week,then have to wait to see what he suggests.have also been urinating more frequently and stomach cramps,occasionally lower back pain.any ideas please.

I am flat-footed and when I put pressure on my left ankle it feels like it is totally flat. It feels like it is collapsed. It hurts a little. But it feels like the slightest bit of more pressure or twist, will break it easily. What does this sound like?

hi. im 14 years and about 2 years ago i was diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrom (PPS). my old doctor sent me to physical therapy, which didnt help me. ive been using braces, wearing good shoes, icing, taping etc. and i still have a lot of pain in my knees. for a while, the pain wasnt so bad if i wasnt squating or running or going up or down stairs, but lately its been getting really bad again. my knee is not swallon. do you think i might need a cortisone shot? ive looked up things that help with PPS and havent seen anything about a cortisone shot, and my old doctor told me it wont help, but im just curious. thank you so much!!

what could this be? im going to the docters in about 2 hours.. but what could this be? its like i have pink eye or something like when i wake up my eyes are like glued together.. and like they dont itch or anything.. just that white stuff comes out of them. and i barely can swallow. like my neck muscles hurt but thats it.. no other muscles hurt on me. and it feels like my throat is cloosing so its very hard to swallow. is this strep? and do i have strep and pink eye or are they like linked or something?

I've been waking up either around 3 or 6 in the morning to go the bathroom for the past week! This never usually happens...but I'm back at college now so I'm not really sure why I'm doing that.
