I have a lot of sciatic nerve pain and there is really nothing I can do medically about it right now? Anyone else living with it and able to work and have a fairly normal life? I was told to have an MRI by my doctor but my insurance won't cover it and I can't afford to take anymore debt. How do you survive it?

I am a 16 year old girl; more or less healthy. I have not so recently noticed that every time I am going to get out I start having abdominal pains & diarrhea; sometimes accompanied by a stomach ache and nausea. Sometimes I get over it and get out and sometimes I don't because of the diarrhea.

Do you know what this is or why it happens? Or do you know anybody who has similar symptoms? Also, do you suggest any analysis (blood, urine, stool)?

My meal plan pretty much consists of bagel in morning/coffeeOJ. lunch would be quesadilla/chicken, coke...and dinner would be slice pizza sweet tea. I am 23, I weigh 116 and i am 5'8''. I am not getting fatter(yet) and I dont eat that much at meals but i get full. obviously this isnt exactly what i eat every day, but mix and match...i like carbs. any ways to maintain this eating habit but by being healthy? can i just add fruits maybe? i eat meat occastionally. I am not anorexic either, i just like carbs. haha. will i be fat when i am old? haha. but seriously...any insight?

Hi, I'm 26, due to go for my smear test tomorrow and I'm absolutely petrified, I don't know why I just am. The last time I went it was a student (male) that did it, guided by the doctor. It's such a humiliating thing to have done, but by a man it's even worse! He was very sympathetic to how uncomfortable I was and I think that's what scared me half to death. I get one done every three years and they've always come back normal, but I'm so worried that it won't. I'm being silly I know, suppose I just wanted someone to say it'll be fine.

My doctor thinks I have endometriosis but says that I could possibly also have irritable bowel syndrome. Are these two diseases related in any way? Can you have both at the same time or does one or the other cause you to get the other? Do they have similar symptoms? (I'm seeing a gyno on 17 August - my doctor is recommending a laparoscopy be done to diagnose endometriosis. If nothing comes up, he is going to refer me to a gastroenterologist.)

I try to keep to a minimum the amount of animal protein I consume but I must say I think your stance is too extreme.
I eat free range eggs so that the chickens who lay them are not among the millions who suffer the barbarity of life on a conveyor belt and I have forgotten the taste of red meat.
I have modified my diet in many more ways too, however your extreme diets seem to me to go too far as they put your personal health at risk through lack of some essential elements.
Man & his ancestors were designed to eat meat ( Canine teeth etc ) now there are 6 billion of us, the meat industry is an awful testiment to our voracious apitite for it. however 6 billion vegans would be unsustainable. any comments !

i'm 14 and for the last about 2 to 3 months i have been having this horrible pain in my right breast when i try to do sit ups/slouch/lay down. it's really hard to explain but it almost feels like a streching pain and it starts to feel like it's burning but almost like it's falling asleep. it only happens to my right one and i have no idea what it would be.

My daughter is 27 years old, but she had damage to the central nervous system when she was born . She has grown up to be a lovely person, moody sometimes but basically a good girl with a comprehension of a child of about 12-13

My problem is that she has been invited for a smear test.
As you will know the thought of such a proceedure is not exactly enjoyable for adult females, and I know she does not want to do it.

Given her mental age and celibacy, should I cancel, or is it something that she ought to undergo?

its really hot, some day was about 38 degrees of celsius and I went to the store in velvet pants (cause I love wearing velvet). everyone was sweating their last water drops out of their body. but to me it was nothing. I didnt even knew it was that hot and I was also barely sweating. people cant stand if its hot, they want all kinds of air conditions or even pools. but I can easly stand the hot weather. so any explanation?
