could be an ingrown hair, an abscess, and in rare cases a swollen lymph node.
A warm compress will relieve the pain if it's the first two. Go without deodorant for a while. If it persists see a doc.

The lump under your arm is probably your lympth nodes swollen, from an infection such as an allergy, maybe from the deodorant you use.
Try changing the type of deodorant, they do have deodorants for sensitive skin and allergy sufferers, if this continues after you've tried several kinds, then it could be from something else so, you should see you doctor.

You're probably either allergic, or got a blocked pore. Make sure you wash off your deodorant with a good soap every evening, and don't put it on when you don't really need it (eg. in bed). And go back to your old deodorant!

i learned this in my Anatomy and Physiology class taught by a doctor.... (i also had this problem) shaving under your arms everyday will cause your lymph nodes to swell, i am sorry i can't remember why.... i just know that i stopped shaving under my arms everyday, the pain and tenderness went away. before he told me that i thought something was terribly wrong. i was very scared.
i hope this helps.
best wishes.

It sounds like a cyst caused by the blockage of the pours from the new deoderant, but you should get a biopsy just in case.
Good Luck,
