First analyse why you are depressed. The reason may be several.Understand that there is nothing in the world that is permanent.Live for today. You can do anything without hurting others. So do things you like. Things like Death, Health set-back,Disappointments over relationship etc are natural in life. Fear and anxiety are common. So never fear these things. Past is gone. Future may not be there. Present is reality. So live for present.Depression should not be brooded over.

medication might be a good route for you. I feel the same way you do. My depression is caused by social anxiety, which might also be your problem. However, I strongly advise you to get a professionals opinion. I tried curing myself without medication, but I just hit rock bottom and didn't have the will power. I just got on some medications, so hopefully things will work out. Good luck to you and hang in there! In the mean time try meditating.

Some cases of depression are situational and self-limiting. If you've lost something or someone you care about for example. This depression will usually go away on it's own when it's run it's course.
If you've been depressed for a long time and it's not going away or if the the depression just appeared for no apparent reason then you need to see a doctor.
You don't necessarily need to talk to a counselor but sometimes it helps.

well i think so, maybe a good friend. when someone is depressed, maybe all they need is a friend to help them get through. Sometimes friends dont really help them and then you feel depressed for not trying hard enough to make them feel happy, but dont. Try talking to the and see what is depressing them and maybe you can help them.

It depends how deep you are into your depression.
I think it's best to see a doctor and tell him how you have been feeling. Take action now before it gets too deep.
In the meantime, if you are a religious person, turn to God and ask him to heal you and to remove your mind of negative thoughts and feelings.

I don't know why but working out always helps.
That ofcourse is if you can get him/her to go to the gym in the first place.
Tanning.
Forcing yourself to be around people (parties etc) also seems to work.
