I had not idea that my drinking iced water or just cold drinks with my food could harm me. But this makes absolute sense....When you refrigerate your leftovers the grease inside (ie: meatloaf, stew, etc) "sets up." That is what you are doing when you eat and drink something iced and eat a full meal with it. It coagulates before it gets to your stomach making it harder to digest. That is why hot tea diets are very popular and why most other cultures drink hot tea with there meals instead of iced drinks. A friend sent me an e-mail on this. I never really thought about it, but it is a piece of preventative advice for a better heart.
Did anyone else know this and are there other little known facts that you could share that we may not know? Thanks, Alda

I have attempted to lose weight for ages and it has never worked. I am in college so its really difficult to eat healthy here, especially because we have a diner on campus that serves only 100% bad food. I find it difficult to be active too. Here are some changes I have made that I think will push me towards some weight loss:
-I never drink anything other than water with the exception of green tea in the morning and possibly skim milk.
-I have replaced Doritos and bad snacks with 100 calorie popcorn, carrots, wasa whole grain bread/crackers, and dark chocolate for when I get sweet cravings.
-I went to the diner today and I got a wrap. But I threw away the potato chips and only ate half of it.

Does anyone have any other small suggestions for me? Maybe some small ways to integrate exercise in my day and some other eating tips. Thanks!

Ever since my son was born earlier this year (he will be 10 months at the end of March), I have had so much anxiety. Being a new mother comes with new experiences, anxieties, etc. I am having anxiety and thoughts about having another child. I dont want my son to grow up w/o a sibling, but i dont know if we (my husband and myself) can go through it again. It has been stressful on our marriage, but we love each other very much.. i also dont know if i can handle another child. i feel so overwhelmed by my son, not anything HE does, it is me. I also am soo in love with him, i dont know if i can love another. and yet, when i see him playing alone in his crib, i get so sad that he wont have a brother or sister. maybe it is too early to think about it, but i am 37 adn dont want to wait too long..any advice?

For some people this "problem" is a miracle, but for me, it's a disaster! I cannot lose weight right now, but I get stressed so often that I tend to eat less every day. I need help, fast, before it all gets worse...

I went for my medical on on Friday last and hd to under go a hearing test ina booth. I have had Tinitus for about 20 years now and I live with it. Will this have any bearing on my acceptance to the AFP Protective Service. The other thing is that I swim and use ear plugs. In the past months I had a middle ear infection, I went to my doctors he prescribed anti biotics and ear drops. I have not used the ear drops as yet should I get the presecription filled and see if eases my Tinnitis. I have fears now that my careeer path will shattered by the hearing test results.

Obviously the question is directed at those who were sexually abused (inc. as children).

Sometimes my memories of these events feel hazy, as if I dreamt them. At an age in life where I didn't know it was sexual abuse. I don't know if my brother or stepsisters remember it ever happening either, and that's make me doubt my memory even more. My Mum calling me a liar when I told her about it made me feel even more insecure.

The only thing I know is that one memory is so haunting that I know this pain couldn't be product of imagination.

Does anyone who was sexually abused ever feel like these memories are hazy and almost unreal? I'm having lots of trouble coping with the supressed memories these days.

Has anyone noticed that a year ago a ban on smoking in pulic ? During interviews today to commemorate this event, and publicise the ban coming into effect in England shortly, 90-99% of those interviewed in the pubs were non-smokers in the first place. Is it just a way of getting the public to do what a vociferous group wants without regard to what is wanted by the majority?
Also last week pubs and breweries in Scotland were bemoaning the fact that they were having to lay off workers because of the drop in sales. Anyone think the two facts might be related?

I came home yesterday with a high temperature that later got higher into 100.5. I went through a combination of chills and fever until my body finally adjusted. I have a fever again now (small, but I feel the heat on my head). My mother says to eat a whole lemon to help my immune system. Last time I did that (I was so incredibley bored...), I had a stomach ache for hours plus a headache. I know lemon erodes tooth enamel and sugar coated lemon is just as bad. Any ideas? I am taking ibufren for the fever, but sometimes when I walk around I feel out of myself, like I am suddenly walking at different elevations, or going downhill one moment and uphill the next. I am drinking plenty of water and I have already spent most of the day resting on the couch reading. The one time I drifted off to sleep I woke up sweaty and overheated. No throwing up, no stuffy nose, bad dry cough, fever, plus mild sore throat.

What should I do about the lemon thing? Any other natural remedies?

My friend claims that she constantly needs to pee. I asked her if she hurts when she urinates but she said no. I advised her to go see a doctor but she doesn't want. Is there any home remedies that can be done or something?
