What kind of Tounge ring?

What kind of tounge ring is safer, a sterling silver one or a 10 or 20 karate Gold one? If neither of those two are the safest, which one would be. Thanks.

some people have allergies to silver, and it can tarnish easily. I would say gold, but titanium is also pretty safe, and less likely to bend.
