My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in her mid-40's and she's the only one who had it in my family.I'm 19 and she's stressing about the prospect that I'll get it too because she had it.As far as I know there have to be at least 2 people in your family for the cancer to be linked to genetic reasons.Am I wrong?

I was wondering how likely it is that a person growing up in a home with heavy smokers and being obese as a child results in pet/food allergies and asthma? There is no family history of these conditions, I think his mom has respiratory problems but that's probably from the smoking. Would there be any improvement with losing the weight and living for some years without being exposed to long term second hand smoke? He's skinny now and doesn't have any problems with asthma anymore. I'm worried about bringing pets into a home once we're married (dogs more than cats, he's fine with their pet cat right now). He was pretty bad with my dog (a golden retriever). Would a "hypoallergenic" one be ok (not a hairless one)?

I have been on Omnicef for 5 days now for a sinus infection and bronchitis. Today I have started to have a pulsating feeling in my right ear that is driving me crazy. It doesn't hurt, just pulsates. What could this be? I am still sick and have alot of drainage and a heavy chest. No fever. I feel as though I am going to drown in all the drainage. Could this all have something to do with the pulsating feeling I have in my right ear? What can be done?

I don't know what is wrong with me, everyone says you should get in the flow with it and be able to live with it but I just can't. I'm so uncomfortable I can't even talk about it, I also am very active and play lots of sports; I am always afaird I will leak. Or even worse leak in school. I dont know if that sounds stupid, but I dont know what to do. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks a bunch!

i got a pap smear this weekend and the nurse practitioner diagnosed me with a yeast infection and gave me some cream for it.
i've never had one before, or at least knew that i had one.
i feel normal and i'm not experiencing any itching or clumpy discharge or other symptoms i've read about.
it's kindof weirding me out because what if i had one for a long time but never knew about it? is this even possible/normal?

The disease is called lymphadema. It has destroyed her lymph sysytem's ability to rid her body of toxic lymph fluid. Have you any information that may help her with pain reduction as we have been unsuccessful in finding anything here in Canada that has truly good effects. Please share any information you have that you know to be used and/or proven in helping relieve the awful symptoms of this disease.

How is this Rx used in the preventive medication for migraines. the name of it is Pamelor ( generic: nortriptyline). This med is for depression, so I don't understand why it is working for my migraines but since I've been on it I went from 3-5 a week to about 1 a week!!!! So it IS working!!!! I've been on it since 11/16/06. Why are antidepressants prescribed for migraines anyways??
