Honey, at 5'11" - when you get to size 14, then you can start worrying about being fat. Women are supposed to be soft and have some substance. Hormones travel on essential fatty acids - with no fat in your system digestion and everything slows down because there is nothing to smooth those processes. I think size 2-4 is way too small for a woman your size - 8-10 is more like it. Check out this ideal weight chart I found:

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm

I was a runway model in my 20s and I was 5'9 and 135-145 lbs. Bones weigh, and so does muscle. According to this calculator you are undernourished at your current size with over 800 calories and their ideal weight says that a woman of your height with medium build would be healthiest at 155 lbs:

If you are trying to cram your frame into clothes made for a girl half your size, no wonder you think you look to big. Try to remember that it is safe to be you and it is safe to nourish yourself and be healthy. There is a lot of joy in this world and it has nothing to do with maintaining a size 2 dress size. I guarantee you that models your size are at least wearing 4-6 size clothes - so please, eat more, be kind to yourself, try to visualize yourself in your mind beautiful and healthy and buy some bigger clothes that you can work on fitting into. Any time you have a negative thought in your mind, dismiss it and gently correct it - No, I am more beautiful everyday, inside and out - and you say it over and over again if need be.

Peace!

A Truthful and unbiased answer here - you are far from being fat. I am not a doctor, but a doctor would tell you the same answer. You need more than 1,000 calories a day. Make sure the calories you get are nutritious. Your question makes sense to me, I do hope you will succeed in your battle, you have my support.

No only are you battling anorexia, you're battling a distorted body image. If you're not seeing a therapist that specializes in eating disorders, you need to! She can help you with your body image...it's not an overnight fix but with time you can overcome this! You need a good support system.

One reason that your metabolism is slow is that you're not eating enough. And battling anorexia I know it's difficult to consume many calories. Again, a therapist as well as a nutritionist can help you.

You are NOT fat and infact I would say that you're underweight. But if you seek the help you can make steps to a healthier you!!! Good luck!

You know what? I'm 6'5", 170 pounds, and I eat less than 1000 calories a day. I look in the mirror every day and see a weak ass muther****er. You're not fat. It's all in the head. I'm not trying to judge here, but maybe you just need to work on your self esteem. So do I. Let's try together from this point on.

Joette Jade, you say "i've been battling w/anorexia for 5 years now"

I'm afraid you're losing the battle right now, Dear One.
It's the anorexia speaking when you say, "I feel sooo gross." and "I look into the mirror and i see an obese, fat, ugly girl."

If you are 5'11" you need to put some weight on. But first, get help!! PLEASE, GET HELP.

Anorexia can be fatal--don't let it kill you--get help now.

You are most certainly not anywhere near obese. You probably arn't satisfied with your body because it has no shape to it. Try weight lifting. Don't worry. 99.9% of women will never be able to build huge muscles like men can. And when they do, it is propbably because they are using steroids. Try to build in some muscle and you will see a lot of changes in your body in the first 3-4 months. This is when your body will really change.

You have got to be kidding.
5'11" and 128 lbs? I would say you are underweight.

If you look in the mirror and think you are disgusting, then it's not your weight causing that. It's you feelings about yourself as a person.

Leave your weight alone and work on your real problems.

Do you have someone you can talk to. You need to see a doctor straight away, who can refer you to a specialist. You shouldn't be going through this alone. You know there is a problem, don't let it consume you like this and ruin your health and your life. Take care.
