I have been on Omnicef for 5 days now for a sinus infection and bronchitis. Today I have started to have a pulsating feeling in my right ear that is driving me crazy. It doesn't hurt, just pulsates. What could this be? I am still sick and have alot of drainage and a heavy chest. No fever. I feel as though I am going to drown in all the drainage. Could this all have something to do with the pulsating feeling I have in my right ear? What can be done?

It's your heart beat and when your infection clears up , it will probably go away. (allergies, infections that affect your ears will make you hear your heart beat...it's normal)

Yes, high blood pressure can be caused by stress although most people don't feel like they have high blood pressure. That's why they call it the "silent killer". Your ears pulsating is the affects of adrenaline. High blood pressure can cause dizziness, headaches and light headedness though so it would be beneficial to purchase a good blood pressure cuff at any good drug store and take your blood pressure at different times during the day. About two weeks of a couple pressures a day can definitely show any physician what is happening and give the physician answers whereby they can help you if necessary. Firestations will take your blood pressure for free as well. Some drug stores have blood pressure monitors in them but they are not always accurate so buying a good one would be more beneficial. As far as your age, a lot of high blood pressure problems are genetic. Many young people have high blood pressure because their parents passed it down to them. If your parents have high blood pressure chances are you will eventually also suffer from it as well. Your blood pressure should be no more than 130 systolic and no higher than 80 diastolic. 130/80 is max. If it's much higher than this than reducing stress and /or seeing a physician is highly recommended.

High blood pressure, or just normal blood pressure when you have an infection in your ear causes pulsating in most cases I have seen. Go to another physician if this persists.

certainly the two problems you have can be related.
the chances are almost 100% that the two things are going hand in hand.
a decongestant is needed.
you do need to be sure your blood pressure is not high before you start a decongestant.
in the book of doctors home remedies there is a suggestion that a sore ear can be helped by using a hair dryer to blow warm air into the ear. this helps to dry the ear and makes it feel better.
i have done this myself and i have discussed this with an ear nose and throat specialist and he said it was a fantastic idea
try both and carry on with your doctor.

you probably need a decongestant. normally when I have had really bad sinus infections, they tend to also give me ear infections because I have very small eustacian tubes that connect sinus with ears. You most likely have fluid behing your ear. unless your doctor prescribes something for you I was always told to take either benadryl or sudfed to combat congestion.

You probably have a lot of fluid behind your ears.

Did your DR not prescribe you a decongestant? If not, they should have.
