thats normal. when joints "crack" it is only releasing air from between the joints. some people crack their joints on purpose, or as a nervous habit. its been said that cracking them could lead to arthritis if done repeatedly over several years, but i'm not sure if that is true or not. thats something my grandmother and mother used to tell me to make me stop cracking my nuckles lol.
but its not gonna kill you if it pops when you stretch
hope this helpz

Some grinding and cracking can be natural if you haven't done too much stretching exercises lately. Take it easy and don't over do any exercise. You should be okay. Also the exercise can help keep joints loose enough so you wont' get that cracking every time you move.

the crack is just the noise your joints make when they release air. it's not bad, but if you do it obsessivly it may contribute to arthritis.

Only if it's painful. If not then it just sounds bad but really isn't.
