I have had an anaesthetic before but only a small dose as I was only out for about 15-20 minutes. This operation requires me to be out cold for a few hours. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm worried about not waking up. Should i be worrying myself, or will i be fine as I have had one before and had no reaction from it?Please help...

My husband was told smoking after bypass surgery would kill him. He was supposed to have a 6 way bypass and the doctor could only do a quadruple, he could not by pass the other two veins they were to far gone. He is only 50 years old and the doctor was shocked at how bad his arteries were 1 completely blocked, 1 90% blocked and 2 about 80% blocked he went a year with angina and never said nothing until he was traveling for work in mexico and he had chest pains there, he made a doctors appt when he got home, 2 weeks later he flunked his stress test in 4 minutes. He was kept in the hospital until after the open heart surgery. He was told smoking again would kill him and we his family members were told that as well, we were also told he will live a comfortable life, but not be the same. He says he feels better, and it took him 50 years to get into that shape, he probably doesn't have 50 left so if he wants to smoke he is going. Is this really as devasting as I think?

I've been experiencing this sickness fourteen years now and I remember whenever I sleep very late in three to four nights continously then the following day I would feel dizziness, getting worst if I would fail to consult a Doctor.During those years of having this sickness,I kept asking the Doctor what was the cause of my dizziness, and there was only one I remember who told me that I was eating a lot of salty foods and foods with monosodium glutamate and it goes up to my head.Though I was a little bit reluctant; however I reduced salt and avoid foods with m s g.Until this time,it's the same way, whenever I sleep very late I experience this severe dizziness. What is the meaning of vertigo by the way? Please share me your answers.Thank you! Ria

I have had severe allergies for the past 2 and a half yrs now. I have tried yoga / homeopathy / alleopathy all to some extent but nothing seems to work. Also, i live in Bangalore where the climate is useful in spreading allergins

My allergies are symptomized by

1. Heavy Sneezing
2. Itching in Throat
3. Pain in the Nostrils
4. Runny / Blocked Nose
5. Often Eye Infections
6. Mild headaches
7. Very Mild Cough

They usually occur when I go out in the Sun or when I experience a sudden change in temperature like getting down from an air conditioned car or coming home after playing. I'm 13yrs old. often my sneezing bouts can last for up to 2-3 days and it takes a heavy toll on my health. Could anyone suggest any treatments

At age 37, I've suddenly noticed my fingernails peeling, dull hair and skin, and the onset of what I think is acne. It's just isolated smallish red bumps that look like pimples without a head. The 'acne' is often on my neck, as well as my face.

I really can't think of anything that changed in my life that would lead to this. I've been working a lot lately (ER nurse) but my job is enjoyable and not too stressful - and I've always gone through spells when I had to work a lot of hours. I've been having difficulty sleeping for some reason. My diet hasn't changed.

Any idea what might cause this, and what to do about it? I'd ask one of the docs I work with, but ER docs don't know much about non-emergency skin things.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

I'm too poor to afford dumbbells, and getting them is difficult for me. However i've stuffed a few heavy books into a strong durable bag, and the total weight amounts to a little over 5kg. Is it possible for me to use them as dumbells? Thanks in advance. (:

Old folks in ours say so, they all give me indefinite answers. I want some good reason.

A rabid dog bites someone, and in order to know he is rabid we've got to observe him for three days. If he dies, indeed he is.

But why do they? Why it can't be two days or four instead? Will someone give me no joke here, Please, please, it has always been a mystery to me since I was bitten by a teenage kitten.

I know very well that rabies has got a big deal with that, but how?
