I do not purge, or do anything to rid my body of the food. I just overeat for emotional reasons, which sedates me.
As an emotional eater, I've used food to self-medicate over the years. I'm working very hard to change these patterns, and since I don't binge as often anymore, I'm now more aware of how my body feels. Overeating really does numb you in many ways.
Anyway, here is my question: after a huge binge, I notice that my body is physically sore the next day. Does anyone know why this happens? It's not painfully sore, but sore similar to when you're coming down with a slight cold. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the body trying to rid itself of unhealthy foods...similar to self-cleansing. It only happens after an EXTREME binge session, or long day of compulsive overeating. Perhaps the lymphatic system is involved???? If so, please explain.
I've improved greatly, as I would binge daily. Now it's only when triggered and not as often. Thanks
