Take Vitamin C, drink plenty of water, and get a lot of rest. My personal strategy of sleeping a lot when I can feel I am first getting sick works for me!

Sorry you probably can't stop it from getting worse. The cold is caused by a virus and like all viruses it has to run its course. You could possibly take some lemsip, paracetamol and lozenges to make you feel better. Also probably best to stay off work so you don't pass it on to anyone else. Hope you feel better soon.

As someone has already said, don't take too many different things. My suggestion is a Rubex orange tablet disolved with a Disprin tablet in a small glass of water. Apparently the Disprin helps to dispurse the Rubex through your system.

Take Echinecia tablets, capsules, liquid or tea and get lots of rest, plenty of Vitamin C filled fruit and veg and plenty to drink. If the cold comes on fill a bowl with boiling water and eucalyptus oil and put your head over a the bowl with a towel over your head to clear your sinuses

the best thing i ever did for the sore throat was to get one dipersable (disolvable) asprin into a very small amount of water (only 1 or 2 mouthfulls of water) and gargle with it but try to hold it in the back of your throat for as long as possible.
works a treat. Good luck with it as i know it can be miserable.
Good health for the future.

rest lots of fluids and get your slef to your nearest health food store (like holland and barrats) to get some echinacia (sp but pronounced eck-in-asia) and something my mom and I swear by. It is called ossilucoxinum (pronounce it the way I spelt it but I doubt that is the right spelling). You are supposed to take it when you get those symptoms you are describing and it really does help keep the cold away!! 99% of the time.
best of all its all natural

Try those zinc cold lozenges called COLDEEZE. I thought they were a crock at first but they actually did cut my symptoms down to nearly not noticeable.

gargle with salt water for your throat, drink plenty of water, eat healthy, get enough rest, and take Tylenol or Advil if you have aches and pains.
