I can't really afford a therapist for depression, self esteem, anxiety, stress. So how does your therapist do to help you, what kind of techniques they use to help you get over it or what kind of things they say/conversations to help you?

are they just like a friend saying get over it..its okay..get more sleep..take risks? or they say/do things more pro to help you..then what is it?

really need this information to help myself out.Thanks.

Don't EVER let anyone tell you to just "get over" any of your mental health problems. Yes getting more sleep, taking some risks, and being told that its ok can help, but sometimes its just not enough. Ill start you off simple.

When I have an anxiety attack, my therapist told me to repeat my mantra. Its something that is personal to me and reminds of whats real and what is a false perception in my head. Here's mine:

God is in control of the situation.
I trust my doctors to treat me correctly
I am safe.
My friends are with me and not against me.

Obviously this is tailored towards me because I am Christian and a lot of my anxiety is feeling as if my friends are mad at me or are out to get me.

Use mine as a model to create your own.

I also have stopped beating myself up for the things that have happened to me/I have done in the past, because they truly are in the past and "romanticizing" with them only makes it worse. Start taking pride in any/all accomplishments you have no matter how small they may be. Slowly, these small accomplishments will turn into bigger ones!
