That if I were to kill an animal such as a dog, or cat, any animal for that matter, I would be in legal trouble, but when a slaughter house brutally hacks pigs, and cows to death, they dont have animal cruelty charges? I mean its perfectly legal for them to slaughter a cow but I cant kill an animal. Why is this?

"A study claims that the higher your IQ, the more likely you are to be a vegetarian.", from Yahoo news.
Personaly I do not agree with that information, it is another brain washed/mind controling statement.
But I do believe that educated people do eat smarter do to knowledge and because they can aford better quality foods.

In the hindu/indian culture.. it is common to find vegetarians that dont even touch eggs but will drink milk...BUT when fasting (there are many special fasts in our culture) they won't touch either and stay away from other things too... So eggs/milk = meat or not?

All the recipes I've found include lots of sugar or maple syrup or molasses and I can't stand the taste of them with baked beans. Can anyone give me a recipe for baked beans that is not sweet?

Thanks!

Oh and it has to be vegetarian.

My husand suddenly stopped drinking milk or eating any product made of milk. He thinks that cow gives milk for her calf and we human take away that milk that belogs to calf and use it for human consumption. In India, the moment cow starts giving milk, the calfs are deprived of cow's milk. I heard that this happens in India, but in USA, the cow is given extra hormons to produce more than enough milk and the calfs are not deprived. How can I find out more information if it is true for USA or in USA also they do same as India.

I am raising my children as vegetarians, as well, and it is very upsetting to me EVERY HOLIDAY when someone has to roll their eyes or make a comment about what we don't eat. I do not comment about what they eat at all. It is very disrespectful.

And please don't say "Eat meat."

When I was a little kid like 5-6yrs old my mom bought me 3 little chicks and I would love them as my pets. One day my mom was cooking eggs and I saw my little chicks and I asked my mom..does chicks come from eggs?..and she didn't know what to say..I found out that they did and I hated eggs since that day even thou i was forced to eat them. Another thing..my parents loved to buy "barbacoa" which is a combination of cow meat from different parts of its body and one day I saw a vein in my plate and I was so disgusted I threw up. I've always eaten chicken before and I liked it but I never ate the part where the veins are..that disgusted me a lot...the other day I was cooking chicken and blood came out and I've stopped eating chicken since that day..I've never liked milk..how gross to drink milk from a cow's nipples..eww. Did that influence my new diet? How did u became a vegan?

Chickens produce eggs whether they've had contact with a rooster or not, they're just not fertile. So why do some vegitarians still not eat eggs, even though they'll never become a chicken under any circumstances?
