I was like that too but I found out that I can go without chicken by using tofu instead. See, Its not the chicken meat that you crave, its the seasonings and stuff that is cooked with the chicken that you want. try making the exact same fried chicken recipe but instead of breading the chicken you should marinate some firm tofu in a mixture of chicken seasoning and water and then bread the tofu just like your mother would. cook it exactly the same way and trust me you wont miss the chicken at all. do the same thing for chicken nuggets or chicken strips. Morningstar brand vegetarian food makes delicious CHIKKEN nuggets!!!
Good luck!!!

Morningstar Farms Chik'n Nuggets. They are by far the best meat alternative I've ever tried. And I'm about to go put some in the microwave right now!
If that doesn't work, drive by a commercial chicken barn. If the stench doesn't make you never want to eat chicken again then I don't know what will. I live one town over from a Tyson, this particular one is a main supplier of McDonald's btw, and we can smell it over here sometimes.

Read up on factory farming. You'll never, ever, want an animal product again.
And look around, including finding a couple of natural food stores. There are lots of products that are chicken substitutes, including taste and texture. Fake meats are great as a convenience, and there are products that will make sandwiches or fajitas look and taste and feel like the real thing. But you will be better off by using these pretty much as a transitional food, and then as a once-in-a while treat.

Take it slow, changing your diet is a big deal to most people, start only having chicken one time a week, then slowly wean yourself from it. I have been a vegetarian for 7 years, I am glad I made that choice. I feel great, have lots of energy, and now I am working on becoming a total vegan. I made this choice when I learned about all the torture animals have to go through just so we can enjoy thayer flesh. Learn about eating a well balanced vegetarian diet, a good book to learn how to take it slow is "Fit For Life" it is realy helpfull and has been a great guied for my healthy eating. Here are the lives of chickens, raised for meat.... )=

I understand, but given the torture chickens experience, not even to mention how unhealthy it is to eat unhealthy chickens, I have been able to manage just fine. You might want to try a couple of fake chicken products and see what you think. My favorites are by Quorn--cutlets or fake chicken patties. Veat also makes a fake chicken breast that's not bad at all. Other brands make fake chicken nuggets you might want to try.
For psychological assistance, go to kfccruelty.com or upc-online.org, which will show you what chickens go through and what they can be like when they're rescued, respectively. After I read about a chicken named June Flowers who liked to sit on human laps and be kissed, I totally lost interest.
But good luck. Let me know if you want more tips!

Why do you want to be a vegetarian if you like chicken so much? There is no reason why you can't just eat a "mostly vegetarian" diet. That means that you add a little chicken to your vegetarian diet.

Find chicken substitutes. There are lots in the frozen aisle that you can just microwave. Morning Star Farms is really good for me.

Go to peta.com and watch some of the videos of chickens and turkeys being tortured to death. Believe me, you will definitely quit eating chicken forever.

I had the exact same problem. Try Boca chicken nuggets or patties. They taste almost exactly like chicken nuggets. Even if you have to deep fry them to taste like what you are used to. Good luck!

if you want to try to convince yourself that it's not nice to eat chickens. go visit a poultry plant. just the smell alone should turn you off. or think of the little birds all stooped over in tiny cages waiting to be electrocuted and then made into your dinner. ( sorry but you said you wanted to not want it so much) good luck. but make sure you get your protien somewhere as your body needs it for muscles and proper growth
