I read online somewhere that soy milk isn't actually "milk". That it was originally the waste that accumulated after making tofu...or something like that. Does anyone know?

Also, does anyone know of a vitamin/s that help with anti-aging? Does vit. C help in this process? Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry. I don't see your point of view. Why do you not eat meat? It's in our genetics to eat meat, and our ancestors ate meat.

anything that would taste good

Now that I'm vegan again, the one thing I miss is butter, real butter. Margarine is NASTY, it feels waxy and tastes like oil with salt. The flavor is sooo artificial. In fact, oil with salt would be more natural than this synthetic spread called margarine.

Needless to say, I can't stand margarine. Butter is GOOD! However, butter is cruel, so it's a no-go. Does ANYONE know if a good replacement for butter? Not margarine please, it's very apparent I won't eat it, much less buy it.

Anyone?

Okay. So vegans, they don't eat meat. Got it. What about bugs? Do they count...?

I am vegeterian but I do wear leather shoes. Pleather looks cheap and more importantly I loathe synthetics. I just can't find a good alternative. I don't wear a lot of different styles of shoes. I only need 1 pair of dress boots and 1 pair of dress heels. I don't have any problems finding casual shoes that are canvas but dress shoes are a big problem. What are my alternatives? I am desparate for some animal friendly choices that look nice as I really have to look upscale for work.

After much thought and increased head / stomach aches when eating dairy and the way that free range eggs don't taste nice anymore I have decided to become a vegan. I'd be grateful if vegans can give me some tips. I know that being a Vegan is MUCH more than just not eating/ wearing anything derived from animals ie that includes milk , eggs, honey, I know it is political (ie in the 80s , well in Britain anyway they would have boycotted a certain fruit Exporter's produce due to it being from South Africa and therefore buying this fruit would be supporting appartheid, my family boycotted them too but weren't Vegans) they are also against GMO . I know a grooming company that is vegan, 'The original source' .

Apart from that it is a LOT of reading for me to do. Would any of you be so kind as to direct me to useful websites books etc ? Manufacturers of Cosmetics and ladies things would be helpful too.

It was a super concentrated liquid that tasted like a sour soy sauce, it was vegetarian and was designed to add a teaspoon to hot water to get essential minerals. It came in a small glass bottle. I can't find it anywhere on the internet. It was made by the same company that made the castile soap. I used to bring it backpacking, it was great to use as a seasoning.

My younger sister, who is 15, recently decided to become a vegetarian. She has been following this for about 3 months now and is doing great with it. I decided to get her a vegetarian cookbook geared toward high school and college students. Do you think she'll like this?
Also, I noticed at Thanksgiving that she didn't eat much other than vegetables, potatoes and stuffing. Shouldn't she be eating tofu or soy-based foods for a protein substitute since she isn't eating meat or eggs?

I'm concerned about animal rights, but uggs look so cool. Is it ok to wear uggs, or where can you get imitation uggs? (In the mall)

I am wondering, if I go on a vegetarian diet, will I lose weight? I barely ever eat beef as it is, and I usually eat something like chicken or ground turkey once a day, so I don't know what a difference it would make. I love cheese and eggs, so I can't give them up. Anyway, I want to see how well it works for you who are already vegetarians!

Please answer:

Height and weight.
Vegetarian diet type (lacto-ovo, or vegan).
How long you have been eating this way.
How much exercise you regularly do.

Thanks!
