Asians use a lot of garlic and what works to get rid of the garlicy taste in chewing some sweetened fennel seeds (anise). You can buy it from any grocery store (McCormick). Just grab a pinch mixed with a pich of sugar and chew. It wil get rid of the taste and freshen your mouth.

To get rid of the smell on your hands, rub your hands with some metal (steel works well). Otherwise just wash your hands and rub some lemon or lime and wash again.

Hope it helps!

Chew some parsley. It really works to get rid of garlic breath!!. And yes, to get the smell of your hands, use stainless steel - you can even buy a bar of stainless steel "soap", but using the sink to rub your hands on works just as well.

this is going to sound really weird but...if you have the garlic smell on your hands particularly your fingers, rub them on a piece of metal, like the flat edge of a butter knife (NOT the sharp edge) or a spoon. some how it makes the smell on your fingers go away. it works with onion smell too!
garlic breath? let me know when you get an answer that works...I'd like to know as well! :)

can't help with the breath, but Martha Stewart says that rubbing your hands with a stainless steel spoon or other utensil will take the smell of garlic and onions away. it should be done under cold running water. i've tried it and it works pretty well.

After I've been chopping garlic, I just rub my hands on the kitchen sink. Works wonders!

Garlic tends to be less odiferous after it has been cooked.

Brushing your teeth and your tongue should get rid of garlic breath, works for me. If you have the smell on your hands, try lemon juice.
