here's two yummy recipes:

Tofu Stir-Fry

We call for a bag of broccoli flowerets to save cutting and trimming time. Choose extra-firm tofu; other types will fall apart during stir-frying. To serve, spoon the saucy mixture over quick-cooking brown rice.

Yields: 4 main-dish servings
Cook Time: About 15 minutes
Total Time: About 40 minutes

3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed with garlic press
1 tablespoon peeled, grated fresh ginger
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 bag (12 ounces) broccoli flowerets, cut into uniform pieces if necessary
8 ounces shiitake mushrooms, stems removed, caps sliced
1 medium red pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 package (15 ounces) extra-firm tofu, patted dry and cut into 1-inch cubes
3 green onions, thinly sliced

1. In small bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch with 1 cup water; set aside.

2. In deep nonstick 12-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper and cook 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Add broccoli, mushrooms, and red pepper and cook, covered, 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Add tofu and green onions and cook, uncovered, 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir soy-sauce mixture to blend and add to skillet; heat to boiling. Boil 1 minute, stirring.

Citrus Barbeque Tofu
Serves 2 to 3

1 14-ounce package of extra-firm tofu, cut into 8 or 9 slices
juice of 2 lemons
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
dash of black pepper
Whisk all the ingredients but the tofu in a bowl to make the marinade.
Put the tofu slices in a flat dish and pour over the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
Turn the grill on medium heat and brush lightly with some olive oil. Grill the tofu slices, brushing with extra marinade while cooking, about 5 minutes for each side.

enjoy!

Tofu will take on the flovor of anything you marinate or cook it in or with. Great source of protein, very low fat. I would suggest using it in a soup, 1/4 inch cubes dropped into a strong very aromatic broth (i.e. celery, onions, carrots, mushrooms, cabbage), and if you aren't opposed to the idea of a meat based broth--chicken or beef cooked with that. Tofu has little or no flavor of it's own, so whatever you cook it in-that's what it will taste like.
You can even make desserts

there are so many ways to cook tofu it is hard to choose! easy ways to try first, is cut into burger size square, then mix a little soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce and spread all over, now fry in a little oil (I like sesame). You can add onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, turning over til both sides browned. Now eat on a bread roll, or with rice, this is just a quick but tasty start to cooking tofu. I also cut into strips and fry and add stir fried veges, capsicum, carrot, mushroom, snow peas, broccoli, zucchini, and add some boiling water, noodles and soy sauce to wok, this is also fast and easy. It is great in tomato dishes with pasta, curried, or kebabs with you favorite veg and marinade. Go for it!!!

agency (from the refrigerator area, not in any respect off the shelf) is perfect. First you'd be desiring to press it. it is the biggest step in any tofu recipe. Slice your tofu type of one million-2 in. thick. position between 2 sparkling towels, & positioned some thing heavy (a e book) on excellent. enable set till eventually the water in out. For a meaty texture you may freeze tofu, then thaw earlier cooking. attempt after freezing/thawing: -Marinating in bar-b-q & grilling, excellent w/cheese. it is your new, more desirable burger. (you may bake this, too.) -Marinating in soy sauce, cook dinner w/stir fried vegetables. Serve w/noodles. -Marinating in Italian dressing. Pan fry. devour in a large salad. -Bread in tempera batter, fry with pineapples.

I love tofu so much :)

I fry it till it become golden brown and dip it with sauce (mix with soy sauce, chopped garlic, pepper, chili and vinegar).

I fry and combine it with some vegetables like sprought beans and some carrots and cabbage

And very much good if u put it as topping to your beef/fish steak.

Yummy c")

I love tossing it into a hot and sour soup. The best recipe is on epicurious.com. I swear by it for colds, being down or sick, and on cold days in general.
