There are three species of cannabis, Cannabis sativa (tall skinny plants with long skinny leaves), Cannabis indica ( short stocky plant, grows around India and western Asia) and cannabis ruderalis (short perrenial weed found in western Europe and russia. The hemp that is grown nowadays has been selectively bred to produce strains with a low THC level (below .5%) or something like that.These low potency varitieies are known as Hemp
