i'm gonna make some potato salad today and am just curious how everyone else makes theirs....
mine is pretty basic: potatoes, eggs, mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, pickles (sometimes black olives if i think of it)

I don't have a loaf pan, but prefer the artisan style....would it be a problem to make a basic bread recipe and just place a round mound of the dough, divided in two, onto a baking sheet?

I was given a deep fryer for christmas (about a gallon and a half volume) and most people are telling to only change it every 2 weeks to 1 month if only used 2-3 times a week.

I can't stand this woman! I wish the Food Network would can her show. She can't cook and I've never made a recipe of hers that was worth eating. She's so fake! Now, she's "trying" to act like Rachel Ray. How desperate. Everything's so yummy or fantastic. Not to mention she talks to you like your 2.

My parents bought me deep fryer for christmas, and I am setting it up. It is a pretty nive digital one, not the little round ones for 20 bucks at walmart.

Should I use vegetable oil, or another kind? I know there is one oil that is really bad for you (i think it is corn).

I worked in restaurants when I was a kid and know to filter the oil to keep it clean. How long should I keep the oil? I hold about a gallon to gallon and a half of oil. Should I keep it in the fridge when not in use or leave it in the fryer with the lid closed? I plan on using it maybe 2-3 times per week.

I'm trying to use up the last couple cups of self rising flour I have. I usually only buy a bag around the holidays for different cakes and things that I do.

Do you have any simple cookie recipes using this?

Hi all,

My roomie doesn't like fish much less the scent of it. I don't eat meat...so fish is all I have. I love salmon so I like to cook it. Is there anything I can do to sort of lessen the smell as I cook it? (even air fresheners don't work when I am done, and I also have to open windows (in the dead of winter!!) to air out the place. I feel badly for her...but I need to eat.

Suggestions??

I heard cassava/yucca roots can kill or poison a person if not cooked properly. I bought some frozen and I would like to make Yucca Fritas.

The best ones I've tried were at the store in the bakery. Chocolate and peanut butter taste and maybe oatmeal.
