I am making a shrimp and linguine dish and I noticed that the recipe called for refrigerated linguine. Can I just use regular boxed linguine or do you think that refrigerated linguine is better? I don't know if my grocer would have this and since I have to cook it anyway, I didn't think it would really matter. Thanks a head of time!

PS: I provided a link below for the recipe I will be using.

Why do they only sell parsley in bunches that are so big an average family wouldn't use it in a year?

I always buy these big bunches, use what the recipe calls for, usually a quarter cup or so, and end up throwing the rest away.

Any good ideas for the rest of the parsley?

I am off on a work trip from the UK to NJ USA next week and want to take something with me as a present to some of the staff there. I was thinking of taking quality street or something similiar but don't want to take something they can get over there. There is a lot of staff BTW so a big tin is needed.

I am making 'Field Salad' to serve at the wedding... it calls for mixed salad greens, which I will add spinach to; toasted walnuts; green apples; raspberry-walnut vinaigrette dressing; and gorgonzola cheese... I have never eaten gorg. but many people say it is strong and may be an acquired taste, but this salad got a lot of rave reviews at allrecipes.com.

I am not a cheese aficionado so I don't know if it would be best to substitute the gorgonzola for something like feta, or goat cheese; I believe these would be a bit milder. I also thought about blue cheese but I know a lot of people don't like this either... Trying to please a diverse crowd of about 40 people... WDYT?

We have a cottage that is the family hang out spot. We have a fridge that's filled with different types of beer and soda.. When my grandpa was alive, there used to be loads of people that'd come down there, and of course, pay for their beer..
Well now that we're getting crowds down there again, some people are deciding not to pay for the beer, booze, soda, etc... and we always have a sign hanging on the fridge that says: Beer- $1.00, Booze-$1/Shot, Soda-$0.50, and Water-$0.50... Well we want to put a catchy saying on the bottom to get people's attention... Theese are a couple that we thought of but we really don't like them...
1. Electricity isn’t free… Neither is the beer!
2. Things haven’t changed. You still have to pay!
3. No Credit!

I have tried twice to not eat red meat but after a few weeks I get very lethargic and extremly weak. I still eat chicken and fish sometimes. I was trying to cut out meat altogether but gradually. I thought something was wrong with my thyroid but it wasn't. Finally my husband said "eat some Steak girl" .within about 30 minutes I was feeling much better. so I eat it maybe every couple weeks, but just a small peice ,it seems to keep that weakness from returning. The next time I attempted Months later same thing happened all over again. So I ate some meat and same results. please help me .

A friend of mine is in the hospital, and will be for the next month or so. She has a family of 3 at home. I need some new ideas for meals. I've already made spaghetti, chicken enchiladas and a full meal of cornish game hens. I'd like to make a couple of things that they can just pull out of the freezer, and one they can use right away. Can you give me some other ideas? Thanks all, you always come through for me.

The sales of canned beer have spiked and breweries are struggling to manage the shift. One of the reasons cited is the environmental factor; cans are easier to recycle. But historically the tinny taste has been named as the reason why bottles are preferred to cans. What do the cans now have that they didn't have before?

A friend of my is HIV+ and I want to help him stay strong with a vegetarian diet. I'm an amateur chef so I'm very comfortable in the kitchen. My specialties are Asian, Indian and Italian cooking.

Does anyone, in general, know what nutrients would be essential for him to maintain a strong body, especially because of his condition? Also, if anyone has any suggestions for meals, I would love to hear them.
