I have some apple juice and I thought you could have it ferment and after a while have it become alcoholic. is this possible or was that already done..minus the alcoholic part?

If you have unfiltered fresh squeezed apple juice, you have to do nothing. There are enough natural yeasts present in the juice to turn it into hard cider within a week or so.

Actually, the apple juice has the sugar in it. You don't need to add any. Get some wine or beer yeast and ferment it. You should put it in a sealed sterile container with a device on the top that allows gas to escape without allowing air back in.

Basically you end up with hard cider, which you could just buy at the grocery store.

In order to make alcohol you need three things… Sugar, water, and yeast.

Try this.

1. Mix apple juice with two cups of sugar. (mix well)
2. Activate a pack of bakers yeast according to package directions.
3. Pour activated yeast into container with apple juice and sugar.
4. Take a balloon and poke a few holes in it with a pin
5. Secure the balloon to the top of the apple juice container with your “mash” in it. (i.e. the juice, sugar, and yeast mixture)
6. Place container in a cool dry dark place. Cupboard or closet works well.
7. Wait two weeks.
You should have a container which contains alcohol. If your balloon inflated some and then deflated you know it worked.

Check the links for more info. Have fun.

Yes, apple juice or apple cider can ferment and become "fizzy". It's sold as hard cider and is actually pretty tasty. My grandfather makes his own hard cider to drink by leaving jugs of apple cider in a cupboard for a while. You don't have to worry about mold because the sugar in the juice converts to alcohol.

If you have a gallon add a pound of sugar to it and a packet of yeast, dissolve the sugar well, put into a dark place that has a temp of about 70 degrees farenheitand let frement for about one week, after a week transfer to another container, trying to keep as much sediment out of the new container. After 30 days you should have alcoholic apple juice.

this depends on the volume, but just add some yeast to the juice, and place a water lock so the gases can escape, after approx 1 1/2 week, filter the juice, and place back into a jug with water lock. 2 week later you should have alcohol

get an hay bale tip it on its side and put lots of rotten apples on top ,by time it runs to the bottom it should ferment, make sure you put the hay bale in a tub to catch the juice, keep topping up with rotten apples, ten apples would probably make a tablespoon of cider so you may as well go to the shop or wait 5 weeks.
