I have both and I like the old fashion oven the best! The convection doesn't heat up the kitchen as bad and the food might be moister but it doesn't brown stuff like the big old Neanderthal oven I grew up with!!!!!!!! Sometimes you need it to brown stuff more on the bottom like cookies, cornbread (skillet), pie crust. I may just be old and set in my ways!

I have a Maytag convection or plain, (pick one) on the bottom and a small plain one on top. The convection is great for cookies and doing more then one rack as the entire oven is the same temp. It also cooks faster the a plain oven.

No microwave, unless it will convert to a conveCtion oven. Convection is great for baking, making food rise higher, bake evenly, and usually bake quicker.
