I was looking at Scottish recipes, ran upon one called Clapshot. One of the Ingredients was one swede, here in the States swede refers to someone from Sweden. In another recipe one of the ingredients was castor sugar. Is this a brand name or a different kind of sugar we are used to here (sugar cane, sugar beets) etc.

For example, you shop on Monday, and don't eat the berries until Wednesday, even though they are in the fridge at a very cool temperature, they get moldy and rotten, and then inedible, ready for the trash. How can I stop wasting money on this, any suggestions would be appreiciated. Thank you.

I am a vegetarian right now, and my parents are pretty supportive of it. They buy me meat free stuff, like meatless hot dogs, veggie burgers, tofu, and other vegetarian food. I am very thankful for that, but I want to go vegan. My parents are not supportive of veganism at all. They think it’s bad for my health (since I’m only 13 and need my protein and stuff) and they also think it will be impossible to find food without milk or eggs. How do I convince my parents that veganism isn’t bad? What are things I can do to stay healthy? And where can I get vegan food?

xD

THANK YOU!!!!

Hi all! I was hoping some of you out there had some good ideas on good foods to serve 35+ people for a housewarming party. I will be preparing it on my own and I can't afford a caterer. I was going to do the usually cold cut and cheese choices, fruit plates, etc., but what other ideas do you have? It's sort of an open house for 4 hours, so it should be food that can still be good after a couple of hours too. Thanks for your ideas!

Like, instead of Chocolate Almond Roast or French Vanilla, you could wake up to Spinach or Booger coffee every morning. Do they make this?

I have a half of a roaster chicken frozen and I want to make chicken soup. I have the worst luck defrosting in the microwave (parts end up cooked) and I don't have time to defrost overnight in a fridge. Can I make soup starting with frozen chicken? Any other options (i.e. improve my microwave defrosting skills)? I want to start cooking in like 2-3 hours.... Thanks!
