Mushroom sauce:-
You need:
Dollop of butter
A handful of chopped field mushrooms
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 chopped onions
fresh parsley to taste
3 cloves finely chopped garlic
1/2 cup of cream
1 small carton of beef stock

Method:
Heat oil and butter in pan.
Add onions, then add mushrooms - cook this over low heat.
All rest of ingredients.
Simmer for 8 minutes

Chicken and ham or bacon go really well together. Think of a chicken and ham pie or a jacket potato with chicken and bacon.

I think the traditional accompaniment would be sage and onion stuffing.
