I'm broke, but I want to impress. Give me your insight please.

It's for a group of friends I'm entertaining, but really there's this girl i'm very keen on...really it's for her.

We'll be dining on mostly french cuisine (sauted innards and such) I'm serving wine with that but my buds love cocktails.

I personally like Grey Goose.

I enjoy throwing cuisine themed parties and for a French party with vodka I would serve Jean-Marc XO vodka. My second choice would be Ciroc, also from France. If it wasn't a themed party I serve Smirnoff's Red Label Triple Distilled vodka. I have a range of other vodkas on hand though I prefer this over Grey Goose, Stoli, Absolute, Finlandia, Skyy, Russian Shot Vodka, and several others. I also like Kettle One if I'm in the mood for a slightly sweeter taste. Chopin is good as well though if Smirnoff had an exotic name it would be raved about as one of the best vodka's in the world. Do a blind taste test with your friends some night and you will be amazed at the results.

Buy a bottle of Chopin if you want to impress it's a potato Vodka that imo is better the Grey Goose or Stoli.

Neither. Both of them are filth. They have used the same tactics as cheap wine marketers - raise the price for no apparent reason. All the sudden it's "top shelf". Stoli was bottom shelf right beside Aristocrat not even 5 years ago.

I recomend Skyy. It's dry and doesn't have that vodka bite at the end, especially when you drink it very cold. Furthermore, the blue bottle is fly and just screams "baller".

I think both are impressive vodkas. Your guest will know that you went to some trouble. Now, Grey Goose costs more- but to compensate that, you could get a smaller bottle. The Grey Goose L'Orange is awesome!

Stoli has a slightly bolder flavor than grey goose so it all depends on the type pf food ur serving. type mixology in a search engine and they have some excellent pairings available

Patrick has it right,
I would go so far as to suggest Smirnoff...
far less expensive, and it is triple distilled... you said your friends like coctails (i.e. mixed drinks) you will be impressed with how nicely smirnoff mixes, i suggest tonic.
With the money you save pick up a bottle of Gibson's Dry Gin... or overpay for Tanq. or Beefeater. Also uses the tonic
Don't know if it goes with your dinner plans, but BEST value, quality for price Sauza (gold) is 10X better than more expensive tequilla's

If you're doing french cuisine, then buy CIROC vodka.

Its distilled 5 times and its made from grapes! Soooo smooth and yummy. Put the bottle in the freezer as soon as you get home.

It runs around $34.
