My dad, by accident, ate some packaged pre cooked ham [we were making ham salad] and ate half a sandwich of it. Is it okay? What will happen??
Thanks.

My refrigerator was accidentally unplugged last night for 16 hours. I had two packs of pork chops in it, still in the store packaging. The fridge was not opened during that time, and when I realized it was off, I immediately plugged it back in and checked the meat. It was still cool. I just opened the packages, and the meat smells OK; just like uncooked meat :D Are they still safe to eat if I cook them tonight?

We are having a BBQ with some close friends... only 20 people... we are happy to provide the meat, chips, and some beer and wine (not enough for 20 people to get drunk, but enough to have a couple drinks)... but we would like to "suggest" the guests bring something like a salad, side dish or desert of their choice, and not assign or "tell" them they HAVE to bring something. How can I word that on an invite?

Or do I just put RSVP on the bottom and when the call me, I just hope they ask if they can bring something and plan on providing all the food?

P.S. Also, should we put BYOB if they want more than a couple drinks?

Thanks!

Has anybody ever heard of a Scotch Egg? I had one in
a little (largely German populated) town and it was great.
But that was the only time and place I've ever seen or
heard of one. How do you make them?

In a saucepan combine the milk, cream, and 1/2 cup sugar over medium heat. Cook until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl whip the egg yolks with the remaining sugar using an electric mixer until the eggs have become thick and pale yellow, about 4 minutes. Pour 1/2 cup of the warm milk and cream mixture into the egg mixture and stir. Add this mixture back into the saucepan. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon, about 7 to 10 minutes.

Place a strainer over a medium bowl and pour the warm custard mixture through the strainer. Stir in the vanilla and hazelnut spread until it dissolves. Chill mixture completely before

i dont get the part where it says "in a medium bowl whip the egg yolks with the remaining sugar using an electric mixer until the eggs have become thick and pale yellow, about 4 minutes. Pour 1/2 cup of the warm milk and cream mixture into the egg mixture"

I am buying all organic foods now and am cutting the above out of my diet. I decided to still eat fish however because of the high protein in it and I live in Florida where it is everywhere. With all of these changes, will I lose weight and feel healthier?? I no longer want to feel run down all the time and my addiction to sugar needed to be stopped!! Any suggestions would be nice.

I want to make some sun tea. What are some good recipes? I like green and black tea. I think herbal teas would be tasty too. How long should it be in the sun and how much sugar per cup?
THANKS!

from them, so if you don't conform to what people think of as vegetarian behavior, you get grief from both other vegetarians AND meat eaters...so I have decided I will no longer declare myself as a vegetarian...it is getting to be too trendy anyway...although I doubt my eating habits will change much...I just don't like the expectations put on me from other people...I don't like labels of any kind...so, any comments?

Aside from hamburgers and brats on the grill, what is your favorite summer meal? I hate to turn the oven on in the summer, but looking for new ideas that my picky family will eat.
