Well, where I'm from - North Georgia, the going rate is about 50 - 75 dollars an hour with a 2 - 3 hour minimum. The DJ supplies all his own equipment and music. You should be very out-going, entertaining, a good sport, be able to mix music & basically make sure your guests have a good time........My 25th reunion is in a few weeks & our DJ cost $400 for 4 hours, but he will mixing in karaoke as well........I think it will be a blast!!

Anyone can be a DJ as long as they have a personality for it and knows how to get the audience dancing. Depending on the area you live in the typical charge is around $50 per hour.

For my old school dances in middle school, the professional DJ was about $200 for three hours, I think.

It really depends what state you are in. For example, in CA, it is around $200-$250 for a FULL event (around 5 hours) WITH special affects (bubbles, blacklikes, smoke machine, etc.)

I would say 12.00-15.00 for amateurs and 20.00-25.00 if you have experience.
