I want to make some sun tea. What are some good recipes? I like green and black tea. I think herbal teas would be tasty too. How long should it be in the sun and how much sugar per cup?
THANKS!

Eva, are you retarded? Sun tea is tea you make by putting tea bags in a pitcher and letting it sit out in the sun...get a clue, child!

I MAKE THE BEST COUNTRY TEA. WELL THATS WHAT THEY TELL ME ANYWAYS. LOL THE WAY I MAKE TEA IS I GET A HUGE JAR, LIKE THE ONES YOU CAN BUY THAT HAVE LIKE THOSE HUGE PICKES IN. THAT BIG
THEN I TAKE LOUSIANNE TEA BAGS (MY FAVE) BUT YOU CAN USE WHATEVER YOU WANT. I PUT IN 12 TEA BAGS, YOU SHOULD ADD ABOUT 2 EXTRA BAGS THAN THE WAY YOU WOULD MAKE IT ON THE STOVE.
I LET IT SIT FROM MORNING, UNTILL AFTERNOON. ABOUT THREE. THATS WHEN I ADD A CUP OF SUGAR, YOU WILL BE AMAZED THE DIFFERENCE WHEN YOU ADD SUGAR BEFORE ITS DONE.
THEN ABOUT 6 IN THE EVENING, (AT SUPPER TIME LOL) I BRING IT IN, AND ADD THE OTHER 3/4 CUP OF SUGAR, I MIX IT, TAKE OUT THE BAGS, I ADD TWO TRAYS OF ICE TO THE JAR, AND THATS IT.
AFTER DINNER I PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE, BECAUSE ITS EVEN BETTER THE NEXT NIGHT. THE LONGER SUN TEA SITS INT HE FRIDGE THE BETTER IT TASTE. OF COURSE, NO LONGER THAN THREE DAYS. LOL
ADD LEMON OR WHATEVER YOU LIKE.

Just get a big glass jar, like gallon size and put your tea and fresh clean water in there and seal...put out in the sun ( a car hood is great) and leave all day...a gallon of tea for tomorrow! Check once in a while to see how strong the tea is getting (by the color) and go from there...sugar to taste and chill after brewing...

here it is...
Tropical Sun Tea Recipe
Iced Tea Recipes:
Ingredients:
2 Orange Spice tea bags (Celestial Seasonings or whatever)
2 Blackberry tea bags
2 Raspberry or Cranberry tea bags
2 Apple Spice tea bags
1 gallon water
1 sprig fresh mint
2 lemon wedges
2 orange slices
2 lime wedges
1 cinnamon stick
4 whole cloves
Directions:
Add tea bags and water to clear, one-gallon jar; leave strings and tags hanging outside jar. Add fruit wedges, mint, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
Place in sun for about six hours or so, then remove tea bags, mint, cinnamon stick, and cloves; refrigerate.
Serve with ice in tall glasses. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint or fruit slice.
Note: Actually, this tea brews equally well in the refrigerator if you want to save time. A good way to make it is to brew it overnight in the refrigerator, then you have fresh tea in the morning!
An alternative, quicker method is to place the tea bags, cinnamon stick, and cloves in one cup boiling water for about five minutes, then pour the strong tea into a gallon container filled with ice, water, mint, and the fruit wedges. If the tea isn't quite strong enough, add a fresh bag or two. The tea made this way should be ready in about fifteen minutes.

I just use regular Lipton. Here in Texas it gets unbearably hot , so I only leave it in the sun for about 1 hour or it will sour. I grow fresh mint and add a small handful of that to the pitcher. When I bring it in, I add lemon drop candies and stir well. Delicious !!!

It's all a matter of taste. The longer you let it brew, the stronger it will be, add sugar to your taste. I really like Celestial Seasonings "Zinger" teas.

It's no different from regular tea so don't waste your time. Anything that says the sun put vitamins in the tea is a fat lie. Die.
