I'm trying to keep it on the less expesive side. There are about 10-12 people attending. Also am I suppose to have some sort of entertainment and what should I do? I'm sorry. I have never done this before. Please help. :)

What are your best ideas when it comes to reducing waste and saving money/time?

I don't always eat dinner with my husband, I usually eat something healthier than he does. So, when I make something like Hamburger Helper, I only use half the mix and noodles and put the other half in storage bags for later. This way, I only have to cook it once, and he doesn't have to eat leftovers which are never as good.

I only use half a banana in my cereal, so I cut it in half and put the rest in a ziploc bag, and suck the air out. It doesn't brown this way.

(this is particularly thrifty! lol) But, when I was pregnant, I would go through an entire gallon of milk a DAY! Yes, seriously. SO, I started buying whole milk instead of 2%, and I would put half of the milk in an empty carton and then fill them both up the rest of the way with water. lol I know, really thrifty, but it was actully good, and saved us a lot of money. haha

Okay, so what are your ideas?

I'm hungry and I want to make something small to eat. I'm not a good cook. I cannot go to the store and buy something or ingredients. I don't have hot dogs or much at all in my house.. No salsa, pretty much only the basics like Eggs, Cheese, Basic Vegetables and etc. No chips or junk food. What's a good, small recipe that's easy to make, doesn't include very many/exotic ingredients? Also that's not very bad for you? I could also eat my dad's microwave dinner for his lunches but I'm not sure if he needs it for tomorrow or not.. What do you think?

Hi. Any pancake syrup recipes you have I would apprieciate. The one I had called for karo syrup and I don't know what else...maybe just water and berries???, cant remember if it had sugar too..... or the measurements. It was really easy and you could just freeze it in glass containers. I've looked online and can't find any thing that sounds kind of the same. It wasn't maple at all. I am disapointed with my mexican brothers and sisters being hired to cook food thats unique to other cultures..this is not intended to be an attack on other races...but should we patronize businesses that advertise "chinese"..."soul" or "italian" and its actually mexican chefs?

We aren't much of wine, or champagne, drinkers so I need some help. We are on a budget and trying to keep things simple. We are having baked cod, chicken cordon bleu and roast beef au jus or pork tenderloin as our main course buffet. We expect around 100 guests, with about half of them drinking, probably more beer and mixed drinks than anything else.

I am getting a bottle of Asti champagne for the bridal party. Do I need to get something for the rest of the guests to toast with? Just family or everyone? What do you recommend that is cheap?

What kind of wines do you recommend we serve?

I am a newlywed and can cook decently, and plan my menu for the week on monday, and do my shopping, but today I am stuck. I don't know what I cook, so I would like suggestions, just a big ole list, i will probably cook it all eventually. My husband really likes veggies, we pretty much eat anything. When noodles are cooked, strain and add back to noodles? wtf? Read below...

Chicken Fettucine Alfredo

2 chicken breasts
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup parmesan cheese
fettuccine pasta
1/2 cup butter
1 pinch garlic powder
1 pinch onion powder
1 pinch cajun seasoning

1.cube chicken and cook in 1/4 of butter. When chicken is cooked, take out and strain. Add remaining butter and melt in pot. Add cheese and milk. Add seasoning to mixture. Add back chicken to pot. Cook noodles on back burner. When noodles are cooked, strain and add back to noodles. Mix and Serve!

Ok, I have pasta, Tinned plum tomatoes, red cillies, ginger, lime, a yellow pepper, some spring onions, cheshire cheese and some satay sauce and some general store cupboard ingredients. Obvoiusly not all the ingredients have to be used (could end up a little odd! ) but they all need using up eventually.
