My little one has been poorly and just gone back to school. When she gets in I would like to make some play dough. All the recipes I have seen include cream of tartar. I don't have this in the cupboard and have no car today so can't get to anywhere that would sell it. Can I use an alternative or miss it out altogether? Just wanted something different for her to do as a bit of a treat.

I thought I'd poll here as to choosing a dot com name for a vegan website I'm developing. I don't want something to trendy, to fundamental or to active.

Something that's appealing to everyone and won't scare off omnivores. As an example:
You know how it is, many companies that are accidentally vegetarian/vegan don't label their products as such..because many omnivores won't buy a product if they see this - thinking its inferior. so...

In the same mindset I don't want to repel omnivores. I've learned lately that it's never too early to start trying to reach out in a big way and certain interactions recently showed me how much people need to be educated flat out..vegan lifestyle could be of course a healthy start and successful plan for a long life.

As well if anyone has further ideas for this site either post them here, e-mail me or IM them to me. Also if anyone has any programming or design experience, IT experience or hobby experience and wants to help - I'm open to proposals :D

I completely forgot about them in the bottom of my grocery bag and they were left out at room temperature for a little over three hours. Am I being paranoid or might they be spoiled? They contain no nitrates which I assume are preservatives if this makes a difference. Thanks!

I am honestly curious, please tell me why a vegan or raw vegan diet offers more protein than consuming fish and/or beef, pork, chicken, etc (and no other reasons about veggie vs. meat!). I am yet to be convinced.

I've had a few Californian pinot grigios and really liked them. (I've also had shiraz - didn't like it so much.) I know whites and reds are two very different classes, and I'm not much of a wine connoisseur - actually, I'm just a beginner - but am wondering if there are any sort of lighter, fruitier reds, since I'd like to start venturing into red territory more often.

We're talking about American, Cheddar, Mozerella(sp?). I know there has to be a scientific name for it, question is what it could be for each type. Mostly I'm interested in the common cheeses.

Ok, so Im fed up. I live in the Dairy capitol of the WORLD.....but when I go to eat I rarely get butter. I get served Margerine. When I ask the waitress for butter, she points at the margerine and sais, this is the butter that we serve. I kindly say, THAT is Margerine. I would like butter please! She said that IS butter. So it goes like a Laurel and Hardy skit. Mabe silly to many of you...but I do NOT find Margerine to be interchangeable with butter. The difference in Chemicals alone is plastic verses moo moo cow. If I order a steak, I dont expect tofu.
Does this only drive ME mad? Its also the same with coffee. I dont drink it often, but when I ask for creamer, I expect somthing that came out of a cow. Not a powder factory. And I expect restaurant employees to know the difference!
Am I silly?

I'm not very fussy what type of animal/food
but the flavor must be spicy to make me like it.
