Most omelettes are the usual boring horizontal flat ones. I want one with that vertical zinginess. All I can think of is making some sort of "Wall of death" rotating frying pan system, but that woulnd't be easy or particularly radical would it?

Someone gave me a gift....and I hate to feel ignorant...She loves to make gift baskets and stuff like that. This contained a loaf pan, a box of chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a jar of raspberry preserves. It also contained about 5 recipe cards---all blank. I couldn't figure out what to make in a loaf pan with those ingredients. What would you have made?

I did end up making the cookies as thumbprint cookies on a cookie sheet though, and filled them with raspberry jam.

Do I have to order them online or can I get them at Wal-mart/Target/SAMS/Albertson's/Kroger......Tom Thumb?
I'd like to buy a coffee system, and coffee pods offer the most flavors and they are pretty universal...but I don't really wanna have to buy them online....

I know it is winter and all, but I ate a frozen hamburger for dinner tonight and it really made me wish I didn't live in Jersey (although I think that anyways). Anyway what do you use to barbecue with and why?

And what exactly is paprika? I've never thought of it but there's a recipe that calls for sweet paprika and I know it comes from Hungary and is also grown locally too but I don't think I've ever even seen hot paprika.

It's wonderful Nebraska beef, so I don't want to add any extra spice. I'm just not sure if the salt will take the juices out if I put it on first. I'm planning to use Kosher salt.

I'm looking for things that a college student can make easily, given the lack of time and the fact that groceries are brought every once in a while from a place with limited Indian things. There are Indian restaurants nearby, but sometimes it just feels better to cook your own food. :p

Thanks for your help!
