Long term or short?

2006-11-16 12:39:11 · 12 answers · asked by Anonymous in Beer, Wine & Spirits

I've looked on several websites, and they all have different information. I just want to know how many calories are in ONE SHOT of SoCo, or any other unit of measure, e.g., once ounce. One website said 180, another said 46 (but that was a UK website using metrics as units of measure, and I don't know the math to convert it). I'm on a diet and I need to incorporate my weekend imbibing into my daily calorie count.

my pumpkin pie recipe calls for 1 cup of whiskey. Can anyone recommend a whiskey that is particularly good to use in a dessert dish like pumpkin pie.

I did a search and found many questions about using foil in the oven, although i don't know of any of them used pans. i have no pan, just foil and a food that's kind of like perogies but 2-3x the size. i want ot cook them for about 15 mins, can i just wrap them in foil and put it on the rack in an oven? or is that bad for the oven/dangerous? thanks for your help.

Am debating about fooling around with my Mrs. Beeton's reprint cookbook (USA poster, by the way). Anyone here ever make plum pudding from scratch, or eat a good old-fashioned one?---is it "worth the trouble" overall to fuss with? Please share your experiences! (A great, reliable recipe would be nice, too!)

(I'm trying to figure out how to boil a pudding if I do it; the big pot is no problem, but how do you tie up the stuff?--cheesecloth? old bedsheet?)
