I cook legs and thighs with my crockpot & love it!! Take the chicken & marinate in Italian dressing for a few hours in fridge. Place in slow cooker & add a clove of garlice & 1 small onion coarsely chopped, 1 can cream of mushroom soup & 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix. Cook til meat is almost done, then add carrots, broccoli, & white rice ( not the quick-cook type ) Cook for about 30 minutes til veggies are fork tender.....

As long as you can keep the chicken from jumping out.
Seriously. Of course you can.
Garlic Chicken Legs
6 chicken legs (more or less as needed)
20 garlic cloves (skins left on)
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/3 cup chicken broth
3 tablespoons oil

Place garlic cloves in crockpot.
Mix spices together in med bowl.
Pour oil into seperate med bowl.
Dip chicken legs in oil, then roll around in spice bowl, until chiicken is nicely coated in spices.
Place chicken legs in crockpot with garlic cloves surrounding it.
Pour chicken broth over all ingrediants.
Cook on Low for 8 hours.
Wroks well with thighs too.

Yes......

That is one of the best ways to cook them. Leg meat is dark and has a lot of connective tissue. Braising/slow cooking is perfect.
There are to many recipes to mention for you, but a basic spice rub(salt, pepper, & garlic powder), sear, then add celery, onion, carrots. Add chicken stock and tomato paste (or tomatos product) to help break down the meat and make it tender.
Off of that you can do a thousand things........let your mind go and try something different!

Hop this helps........

Yes you can.
Try it with a sauce of half soy sauce & half water.
Or a little water & Italian seasoning, or garlic pepper, or lemon pepper, or a can of tomatoes and some cajun seasoning.

Why not? Put it in with some water and dry sherry.
