For instant coffee I use one rounded teaspoon (1/3 of a tablespoon) per 8 oz of hot water. For my Mr. Coffee coffee maker I use one rounded Tablespoon of ground coffee for every 2 cups.

1 Tablespoons of coffee per cup if you would like it strong. If you don't like it strong then make it 1 Teaspoon per cup. This is what it says on the Folger's thing that I have to make coffee. Here is a link to the Folger's Website and it will tell you how many tablespoons to coffee to add per cup. This can be for any brand of coffee.

A Starbucks bag says to add 2 tbsp per 6 ounce cup. That is strong for many people's taste. 1 tbsp per cup is fine too.

All depends on what you are making. If you are making an ordinary cup of coffee for someone to drink then a teaspoon of instant coffee is enough.
