Yes you can substitute half and half. We use it instead of heavy cream for alfredo all the time at home. It makes for a lower fat dish.

Half and half would be an ok substitute for whipping cream, it just won't be quite as heavy in the mouthfeel of the final product.

Try this, it works! Heat one can of evaporated milk, add 6 ounces parmesan cheese till melted, salt and pepper to taste. Serve over pasta.

yes of course! try mixing (using electric mixer or a beater) some eggwhites until its fluffy then you can mix it with mayonnaise if you like or add some flavoring or sprinkle some lemon...then voila! this is an easy and fastest way to do your home-made whipping cream.

If you use half and half. boiling in the pan fryer and add a bit of grained Parmesan cheese to thick it, I think should do it.
