Weddings - October 2006

My fiance and I are planning on getting married next year. We have 2 children together already. The thing is, he wants an actual ceremony (preacher, in a church, surrounded by family, reception afterwards), and I don't care if we go the the Justice of Peace, I just want to get married...lol. What are your thoughts on the better way to do it? I don't want to fork out a lot of money seeing as how we have 2 children the money can be spent on. Any thoughts?

I am getting married next summer and sadly, both my parents passed away in 2005, (dad in March, mom in September). I want to honor their memory at the ceremony but I don't want their pictures up because that would bring more emotion to an already emotional day and I don't want anyone to get up and speak about them for the same reason. What do you think would be a unique way to honor their memories that wouldn't be "in your face"? Also, since both of them are gone now, do you think that it is appropriate for my fiance's little boy, who is 4, to be my escort down the aisle as a way to say we are now a family together? That is what we're planning on doing because there really isn't anybody else that I want to do that. And I don't want to walk down the aisle by myself. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wives and brides to be, let's share your dream wedding ideas. It's yours and you get to at least get it out of your chest. Mine was to have a wedding on the beach with outdoor tent and tequila. No shoes and overloaded jewelry needed but fancy sunglasses and pretty bikini beneath the dress is recommended. It's I, the groom, the priest, the guests and the sun. After ceremony and during reception, we will take off swimming or playing beach volley. Of course my wedding was a lot more complicated, but the beach wedding was all I wanted and still dream of.

Be having second thoughts about getting married?? I am not sure i want to marry my fiance anymore who keeps making fun of me with his friends?we used a zip lock bag while having sex 5 weeks ago and i went to the doctors for a blood test and i am pregnant .My guy thinks this is funny saying we should nick name the child zip !How can i make him not act so immature saying we will need a whole new wing on the house because i will be so big He is driving me crazy with the jokes!He told one of his friends and now they at me and crack more jokes!He even pats my stomache and says hi zippy.!Some of his jokes have gotten really crude hen talking about our sex life. ok i just found out that my fiancee is talking in very romantic ways to his ex. when I told him that it bugged me that they were still that close a week ago he said that he would stop doing that. Okay so I have a best friend who wants to get married on a cruise. I am getting married next summer and I would like to find a special way to honor my mom at the reception. I will be dancing with my dad, of course, but my parents are divorced and I don't want my mom to feel left out or like she is not as important. My best friend was in a similar situation and had a dance with her mom as well as her dad, which was nice, but I don't really want to copy her so I would like to try something different. My dad died when I was 17 & my mother can't make my wedding since she lives 2,000 miles from me & we can't afford to fly her in (we're broke, it's going to be a very short, simple ceremony). I don't have any male relatives or know any older men who could stand in as the father figure to "give" me away.

What do you suggest?
