They make disposable plastic champagne glasses which are used for the guests at most weddings. You can find them at most party supply stores.

Whatever your budget allows will dictate what type of glasses the guests get. But, you can shop for your glasses whenever you want. From the moment your said "yes", til the day before. And, your glasses don't have to be expensive. I saw a pair I like very much, and they're under 20 bucks! Also, if you can afford to pick up little items like that and the cake topper, cake serving set, and other little stuff like that along the way and spread it out instead of getting it all at one time in addition to the expensive stuff, it'll be a lot easier on you and your budget. Just a thought. Happy shopping! Congrats & Good Luck!!

It is not unusual for everyone else to get plastic, and in some places, preferred. Yes, you and your mate get the real thing. Don't start your marriage out on a fake foot! You could go something like cheap Walmart or Big Lots glasses if you really wanted everyone to kind of match, and had enough in the old budget. Best of Luck and a happy life to you! Nana

Yeah, on a budget, the only people getting the fancy glasses are the bride and groom... and you can even wait until the bridal shower (if you're having/getting one) to see if someone gives a set to you as a present, many people get them that way... The only other people that would get fancy glasses would be the bridal party, but that's not as common.

The bride and groom should get glass. Nothing in the rule books says they have to be lead crystal. I got my wine goblets at Dollar Tree (yes, a dollar store!!!) that looked like crystal!! NOBODY knew the difference!! Everybody else can use plastic, which you can get in bulk at party stores or even Wal-Mart.

sure. it's not like they are going to want to take the glasses home. Or maybe just get cheap glasses at Wal-Mart. As long as the bride and groom have nice glasses it's no big deal. No one is going to notice.

The caterer should provide glasses for all the guests. Usually the bride and groom use crystal.

Are you speaking of the glasses for the toast? Or glasses in general? Usually the caterer supplies glasses. The toast glasses are something you purchase for you and your fiance. But everyone elses glasses are provided by the caterer.
